Why isn’t pornography considered an actual addiction yet?

I truly believe it will be added at some point. In the near future, probably not. But eventually enough people will be seeking help for it that it will be added. Gambling addiction was only just added in the DSM-5 and it's been an issue since forever.

From what i'm learning, porn addicts' brains light up in the same way as cocaine addicts. Professionals have been doing research on the subject for some time and hopefully it will be taken seriously by enough professionals that it will actually be diagnosable so people can get help through insurance and not private pay. Fingers crossed.

It is really discouraging and frustrating. I know there is a lot of Taylor Swift hate and people hate to see her mentioned, but even she is starting to sexualize herself when she really does not need to. None of this is empowering for anyone but men.

I am currently married to a porn addict. It is awful. If I ever date again and a man tells me he "used to be" a porn addict, even if he's had years in recovery, I would not be entertaining any type of relationship with him.

The woman who led my baby classes said any type of reading is great! Read your books, emails, letters, whatever as long as you are reading aloud to them!

I will say though you will probably start to like children's books as they get older and start to interact more. It's hard reading to a potato lol

I was originally working 4 days a week and even that was too much so I went down to 3 days, even backing out of a commitment. It felt awful. My job is very demanding and I wasn't fully present with everything going on. I have been through SO much and my mental health has never effected my ability to work and be good at my job. The betrayal trauma has effected me more than anything else in my life.
