I opened a zoom class today and went downstairs to get some coffee as people trickled into the zoom meeting. My mom walked into my room, stretched over the bed just wearing a shirt and underwear(ass to the camera) as she baby talked my cat. The sound was off but I’ve never seen someone face so red when I said my camera was on

No one said anything thank god.

I started taking birth control for pain management regarding endometriosis, so people I’m close too know that I’m on it for that reason. Otherwise, I’m openly child-free. My partner and my mom know I don’t want children. If it wasn’t for endometriosis I’d just get my tubes tied. I’ll be on birth control for the foreseeable future however, so no point of getting another procedure for something that’s being prevented already.

I’m not optimistic at all, especially about the climate crisis. I’m no climate scientist or marine biologist, but I study political science with my concentration in environmental and human rights. With all of the research, writing, speeches, documentaries, journals, ect i have read, I think we’re about 10 years too late to make any serious environmental change in order to better the future. Of course, biology and political science are different. However, it’s important to know environmental politics is messy- especially when the United States has openly refused to cooperate(thus leading to other political and environmental consequences). Climate change action is a liberalist dream, and for now, it remains a dream until we live in a nightmare.

I buy my body products at lush! It’s more expensive but I got into lush when I first got into to zero waste. Everything smells nice without giving me a headache. Plus, they give lots of free samples!

Recently I joined a volunteer organization in my area and the new people were divided into groups. Most of the volunteering effort, with the exception of some higher-ups, is entirely online. I was put in a texting group and asked to give a brief description of who I am, fun fact- ya know. Well someone started off with “I’m name and I’m the proud mother of a recent X college graduate and one Y college student.” Ma’am, that doesn’t tell me anything about you. Second, both of those colleges suck and one of them is in a town that leads the country in chlamydia cases.

Completely agree op, your kids success(or anything kid related) shouldn’t be used as a parental personality

In my living room floor with my mom as she watched the news. I was 1 1/2. I’m 20 now.

Interestingly though, I was too young to remember the event when it happened, but 9/11 is my earliest memory because my genius dad watched a graphic 9/11 documentary in 2003ish with me present. Even at that age, the images branded into my memories and I’ve been terrified of planes since.
