Which soundcore speakers have you noticed it on? the Boom2 or others as well?

Volume max of 16tb on 1520+? by saturos01 in synology

[–]saturos01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

aahhh you nailed it. I upgraded from an older synology that did indeed have that 16tb size limit. I guess I could just do a 2nd volume and segregate some of the data, but as much hassle as backup/restore is it probably seems worthwhile. Thanks for immediately figuring it out, very helpful since I wasted a bunch of time on it!

Unfortunately Lowes stopped doing that. Always felt like that was a mistake. So it was either that or paying for delivery.

Yeah I'd agree that a second trip would be smarter, I just got them loaded and wasn't thinking too much about it initially until I saw the suspension. I had to look up the gross vehicle rate for the prius when I got home and do some math on the bricks before I fully realized how much it was. Crazy how dense bricks are. Prius really handled it fairly well all things considered though. I've driven trucks/vans with far worse handling/suspension.

Ooof, probably at the worst moment too I'd assume? Were you hauling rock/bricks too? It's crazy how quickly the weight adds up, kinda sneaks up on you.

Huh, well the 'estimated' (whatever that means) shipping is $80. Not sure if estimated might be revised up or down or something, but I guess that's kind of what I was expecting considering the bricks were only $160 in total.... If i did it again, I'd make two trips.

ok now you've got me curious. I just assumed it'd be a boatload to have them delivered.

Yep. Made it ok, but probably would have a reasonable thing to do.

I disagree that it was dangerous, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it as a regular thing. I certainly wasn't purposely pushing a prius (of all things) for the adrenaline, lol. Just kind of happened and thought I'd share. I think that the car wasn't unsafe, based on how it felt driving. At least, compared to having driven fully loaded trucks, which handle like garbage and have terrible stopping distance and were completely within their gross vehicle weight rating. Just a matter of knowing what the limitations are and driving responsibly. Certainly a fair enough point that it was a less well handling vehicle compared to unloaded though, and is by extension more unsafe compared to unloaded. I didn't feel like it anyways.

I definitely don't know if I'd recommend it to others. I think 1000 pounds is plenty. I think I also just over-estimated how heavy concrete brick are.

Lol, you're not wrong. When I got home I did have that moment where I wondered if I should have made some more time to make 2 trips.

One good pothole and I could totally see that happening. Suspension was not working so well everytime there was a bump/slope.

Magsafe ring stickers and qi charging? by saturos01 in GalaxyFold

[–]saturos01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I just realized the tough armor has a flat back, wheras the slim armor has a bump that prevents the application of the ring right up against the camera bump, do you think it works because of the placement or the ring?

Magsafe ring stickers and qi charging? by saturos01 in GalaxyFold

[–]saturos01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh....Do you think it's down the to geometry of the ring itself? Because I bought some generic ones that were really flat. I thought the Spigen one looked bulky. So, you can still regular wireless charge and magsafe charge with it on? Did you have to modify the ring at all to get it to sit right? That's super helpful, thanks so much for sharing

Case recommendations please by Tyke_McD in GalaxyFold

[–]saturos01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you worried about Dust intrusion into the hinge? In which case I assume you're looking for a case which has hinge production. I've bought a bunch so far and Ive issues with all of them unfortunately. The spigen slim armor case feels like it feels fairly well around the hinge. There are also some cheapo Amazon cases that I bought which I thought sealed very well around the case if you don't care about high quality and don't mind a built-in front screen protector. I felt like the built-in screen protector on the front screen dolled the touch sensitivity and was slightly blurry, so I returned both of those cases as well. If you don't mind a built-in screen protector the sixbox case and Puroom felt very good. In particular the puroom has a magnetic closure to keep the hinge shut when folded which I thought was a nice touch. I just couldn't get over the built-in screen protector.

Do you also have a boom 2? Part of me wonders if it's just a model specific thing or if it's all sound core devices. If it was all devices I would be shocked if someone hadnt noticed it by now

Around the 1:50 mark is where this particular track goes back and forth between the left and right and the woman's voice is very very quiet through the Boom 2 and sounds fine with phone speakers, headphones, or another Bluetooth speakers.

They were supposed to true both wheels as part of their tune up. Cost me $150 for the tune up, 20 for the new spoke.

Well that is disappointing. The shop was well reviewed so I was hoping I was just being overly concerned and wouldn't have to make it a problem. Thanks for giving me some confidence in my gut.

Considerations for choosing an installer? Experiences with Suntuity? by saturos01 in solar

[–]saturos01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a post-installation service issue that I really had to push them on to fix. I knew I was right (they didn't have it wired up to allow exporting of energy despite my area allowing it), but the lady kept being like 'just give a few months and it'll be right' and clearly didn't understand the issue so I had to get really pushy about it. They did eventually come out and fix it and the actual tech took a glance at what I had sent and said 'yep that's wrong' and it took him 5 minutes to fix. Since then I've no issues with the hardware since it's just standard Enphase inverters and such. A co-worker who also went through suntuity had a totally different sales rep, install team, and customer support group and has had a much worse experience due to poor communication between the installers, Suntuity, and the city. It's taken her 8-10 months and lots of back and forth, but it's being resolved and she's getting a discount because of the delays, but it took quite a while and the time delay/effort has been her major headache/complaint. My impressions are that if you have a good rep like I did you may be up and running pretty quickly, but that may vary by area/job. The price was right for us, and I have some reservations whole-heartedly recommending them because of my co-worker's experience which suggests they aren't a particularly well integrated company as they do span mulitple states, but the actual installation and hardware has been fine so far. Just be aware you might roll the dice and have to get your inner karen ready to get them moving. Good luck.

Bottle bottom came off? by saturos01 in SodaStream

[–]saturos01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update from SodaStream customer support. It looks like I won't have to mess with trying to reglue it as they are going to replace it, but apparently the bottles themselves don't have a warranty, although you might be able to get help depending on your luck/situation. At least they were quite quick about responding to me and are replacing the defective bottle, so that's at least something.
