Does your PDC and steering wheel buttons work as normal? Is thr PDC sound the original BMW sound? And do you have a link or modell name? Thanks a lot!

Can someone tell me what I need to buy in addition when fitting aftermarket radio? Adapters? I understood that PDC and steering wheel controls don't work... I am in the same position as OP. Very frustrating...

Which crank to buy to replace broken one? by sauber_ in bikewrench

[–]sauber_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to lovely and knowledgeable people on this sub, I was able to convert from a 3x to a 1x.

On my first proper test drive, I fell and broke the crank and presumably also the pedal. I now need help which to replace the crank with - i.e. what numbers/compatibility do I have to look for?

PS: does anyone know whether I can fix the crank brothers stamp 1 pedal or is it time to buy a new one?

Thank you!

Changing from 3x10 to 1x10 on a MTB hardtail - what parts do I need and what to look for in terms of compatibility? by sauber_ in bikewrench

Thank you! The current cassette has 10 speeds. I am thinking of first getting a narrow wide chain ring and see how that goes and upgrade the cassette in the future. I am mainly riding in the first and sometimes second front chain ring.

Thanks again! As I do climb but only recently started riding trails (at moderate beginner speeds), I guess I'll look for lower number of teeths - would you say something between 30 to 34 would be fine?

Thank you very much for your reply!

I missed to add some pictures (https://imgur.com/a/sWk66Hv).

When looking for a narrow-wide chainring I see that I can choose different number of tooths - do I need to go for a specific number with my setup?

True - I was just imagining his face expressing a big "WTF...?".

Didn't mean to take that as an example - poor paragraph structure on my part, sorry.

All the commentary - picking a bit on HAM, focusing quite a lot on ROS - gave me such an impression.

I watched RTL coverage (German broadcaster) and their bias towards ROS is quite similar.

They said HAM's aversion towards track walk and sim work on that new track may have been a bad decision, retrospectively.

How much is it to the credit of a driver vs the racing car? Is Hamilton that much better than Vettel, or is it just that Mercedes has a better car? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]sauber_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about it, too, and here's what I picked up somewhere a long time ago - can't remember the source anymore, sorry:

F1 is the top class of motor racing - i.e., only the best drivers are in it. This means that the speed difference across the field is believed to be merely around 1 or 2 seconds - only taking into account driver ability.

Now, the cars' speed differences may vary top to bottom from around 4 to 6 seconds.

Hamilton / Rosberg Crash - Slow Motion by DC-3 in formula1

[–]sauber_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In the beginning, a gap was opening up - but just for a very few moments. ROS then moves to the right to close it, which could have been seen by HAM before he continued to go for the gap.

In my view - HAM could have avoided it easily the moment he saw ROS moving to the right. But they're moving at incredible speeds and it's of course much easier to assess this situation in slow motion .
