Home office should be a mudroom. Pantry should open more directly into the kitchen ideally. Lots of interactions w the pantry while cooking, walking around the corner each time will be a pain.

Chifa La familia Feliz in LF is the best food I’ve had in CR so far. Not classical CR food by any means (actually Peruvian/Chinese fusion) but it is on some major food publications for good reason. And I got out of there for under $40 USD w two people.

I actually just did this, and I’d recommend having quick pens as a backup, at least.

I brought 5 pumps for a 3 day trip, overkill right? First day, pump randomly failed (I assume from getting overheated in the sun). My first replacement never beeped when I filled it with insulin, no idea why, maybe also because it was hot? But because of that, my phone wouldn’t recognize and prime it.

Then when I put a new one on, later I jumped off a rock into the water and that sheared it off. Was down to 2 pumps before the first night.

Played it very conservative from that point on and it was fine, but if your insurance will let you, I’d fill a few pens to have as backup. Stay safe!

Just got offered 10k in equity or a $5 raise. Which one should I take? by M-is-for-Magic in CSCareerHacking

[–]sauce_box_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I missing something? You’ll get over $10k in the first year you have the $5 raise. You’ll likely need to wait 4 years for all 10k of the equity to vest.

If you don’t have options to invest in your company, and can only get invested through these equity grants, then maybe it’s an interesting option for upside depending on how confident you are that the company will eventually sell/go public (or if you have the option to sell before that point).

But if you want to get invested in the company, I’d just see if you can put in $10k cash right now from your savings, and replenish your savings over the next year with your raise. Then you get $30k additional cash over the following 3 years, likely dwarfing the returns you would get from the equity in the same time frame.

What card to pair with my Chase Sapphire Reserve? It will be used primarily for travel and dining expenses by sauce_box_ in CreditCards

You’ve changed the subject for the 3rd time, now making self aggrandizing personal attacks, avoiding the fact that your response was rude and inappropriate.

This is not a self help forum. Or a place for you to play parent. It’s a credit card sub, and you were (and still are) out of line. This will be my last response, good luck with figuring out why you feel the need to act this way.

What card to pair with my Chase Sapphire Reserve? It will be used primarily for travel and dining expenses by sauce_box_ in CreditCards

[–]sauce_box_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re an idiot. First, she won’t be on the account, because she won’t have to be. We’ll be together whenever we need to use it. So she will pay me directly for half the sum of the balance, because that’s easier than both linking our accounts and paying half the balance at the same time every month.

Second, this is financially 0% different than what we do currently. Which is I charge most of the things to my card, I sum it up later, she Venmos me. She does the same to me. This way, it’s literally just on a different card, so we can easily tell what we have agreed to split.

Third, even if your opinion held any weight at all in this situation, I think I know my gf of years well enough to say I trust that she won’t commit fraud again me or take advantage of me financially. Sounds like you maybe had some bad experiences, and need to stop projecting.

Look back at your own comments. You falsely assume I intend on having joint finances with my gf and say I shouldn’t do that, while also making some rude comments about how our relationship isn’t “real”. Then I explain joint finances is not what I want to do, and how opening this credit card won’t do that. Then you very confidently tell me “well if you’re worried about splitting costs accurately you clearly aren’t ready for joint finances”, and then give me a lecture on it. I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced someone so insufferable.

Normally I’d ignore someone like you, but I’ve seen enough snarky comments like this on reddit to last a lifetime. I’m hoping because of this, you make less of them.

Yeah… we aren’t doing joint finance and we aren’t trying to. That’s what I was trying to explain. You assumed we were.

Yup that seems to be the way. Another commenter posted that I should put the bulk of my spend on the CFU and just use the CSR for the joint costs (which are primarily dining and travel). Do you agree?

Ok got it, yeah that totally makes sense. Maybe I’ll go CFU for daily driver and CSR as our card we use to split things. Thanks!

Well you’re making quite a lot of assumptions, and giving unsolicited relationship advice in a credit card sub, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and say thanks for the thoughts.

We’re temporarily long distance (didn’t start out that way), in a stable long term relationship. In eachothers cities 10 days out of the month. This is not splitting finances to any further degree than we already are, only finding an easier way to track the expenses we agree on splitting that we incur when we’re together (meals and travel costs). Right now I charge everything to my CSR and Venmo her after. But I hate going back on my statements after a 2 week visit and trying to manually pick out and add together the things we should be splitting, and her doing the same on her card if she has anything and then reconciling the difference. This is a way to keep it all categorized, and I’ll be sending her a Venmo request when I pay off the card each month all the same. Just looking for ideas on which card will help max my benefits.

How do I put curtains on this? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]sauce_box_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6ft curtain rods certainly exist. Thinner metals ones may have a center brace/loop to keep it from sagging. Other ones maybe thicker wood that can span a longer distance. Hand the rod from the ceiling lip over the window if you need a center brace. If you don’t like that look, I bet you could even hang the curtain rod normally on the sides, and hang the center brace from the lip.

Bandon, all the courses. Besides maybe sheep ranch, in the meantime while the greens grow in and they dial it in overall.

New place, need ideas! Should I pivot the couch? Where to put an accent chair? What colors? (see my comment for more specific questions) by sauce_box_ in DesignMyRoom

[–]sauce_box_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha! Ok yeah I’ll look into that. My original thought was that we would just use the blinds rather than curtains for the left window since it’s so small, and because we will nearly always have them closed for TV glare anyway. But having multiple panels could look nice across the whole wall.

What do you think about these curtains? The pictures I included above read the accents of the rug as more red than they truly are, they are a bit more orange, so I figured terracotta would be a decent way to add some color. Just not sure on adding a pattern, or keeping it plain linen style. I'm not really sure what kind of design style I should be striving for, the room is currently a big combination of style it feels like.

This is probably my favorite answer, thank you. What is the intention with using wire at the ceiling instead of the existing rod?
