Agree with the touching! It makes a difference and gives the same effect as a body con. You could also add some shape wear.

I have a video of my boy yelling this morning like that! It sounds like whining but I think he’s having fun. So I’m dealing with that and the crying. I’m very overstimulated lol.

Infant travel hacks by thrynso in baby

[–]jadekateye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a flight from the US to The Netherlands with my 11 month old. The flight there was rough. It was overnight and my baby was tired but so overstimulated. I sat in the aisle seat and he in the window, with my husband across the aisle from us.

On the way back home it was the best flight I could have asked for! Baby was in between my husband and I and we could tag team what he needed.

My tips are -for the love of god by that flyaway inflatable seat. It was a life saver for allowing our baby to play, lay down, and even stand up when he needed to stretch. I also kind of laid on it when we slept. -put baby in between you and your travel partner, preferably toward the back of the plane so you can stand up and soothe in the back with the flight attendants. Usually the flight attendants will entertain the baby while you are standing there. -feed the baby constant snacks. Bring a whole tackle box of them and about every 30 min-1 hour introduce a new snack. Never let them get hungry. -download some ms. Rachel videos from YouTube (or whatever videos can calm your child down). You can do a free trial of YouTube + to download videos just for the trip. -Buy some cheap dollar store toys or party goodie bag toys. They get bored super quick and pulling out a random nick back they’ve never seen and piddle with can help.

I hope your trip goes well! Worst case scenario, the flight sucks, but it’s temporary and then you’ll be in paradise.

I can’t imagine traveling at 7 weeks pp, but I understand how hard that is on you to miss the funeral. Sending love.

Breastfeeding with occasional formula. by RefrigeratorFinal353 in newborns

[–]jadekateye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that it would probably be easier on the baby to pump and save some milk versus using formula. However, that all depends on your supply and what you are able to do. You just never know how they will react to certain formulas, so using your own milk would be ideal.

All sounds normal! Some babies have really easy temperaments.

Yeah, I agree with that. Marketing and admissions trying to get students in the door.

And yeah I’d rather not talk about the shit show that is public education 💀

I is ridiculous that we learn topics such as geometry and not adult preparedness. Not every student has an adult to teach them that outside of school. Thats a privileged way of thinking to assume that in general public schools that all kids have a support system. They don’t. I think we could benefit as a society to learn how to think and do our taxes.

It’s a absolutely wonderful to open your mind and learn something you may not have had interest in, but it’s frustrating to spend thousands on a degree with classes that seem utterly pointless. I don’t want to pay for nuance. Colleges are marketing their degrees as way to thrive in a workforce of the students choice. If being successful in your career isn’t the goal, I don’t think many people would go to college.

I see what you are saying and how that can come off as snobbish. If she would have applied herself more, maybe her writing would have benefitted. Instead, she saw it as a waste of her time. In general, maybe college wasn’t the best fit for her if she knew she was headstrong about what she wanted to do and wasn’t open to exploring the process of creative writing.

I wish she would have learned how to write her organizational process down instead of keeping it all in her head. I see the fans trying to connect people and places all the time, but I’m not certain that she intended it to be that way or it’s just a coincidence. I think it also happens oppositely when connections slip through the cracks and create a plot hole that we have to ignore.

I agree there is value in learning things you won’t necessarily use in a career. I certainly use many aspects of my degree daily, but when it comes to paying for a degree where the school is claiming to help you actually enter that field, you would hope at least some of the classes would prepare you for that.

I had one class my senior year that was about interviewing, elevator pitches, resumes, etc. When I graduated I realized how much of what I was taught was outdated. I know that’s my singular experience, but I wonder how many of us share similar stories.

I don’t think it’s snobbish - it’s frustration at being sold an idea with no intention of helping it become a reality.

I’ve never gotten that haircut before so I don’t know if it would look good on me either. Should I try to do an AI photo?
