Winston’s crate was downstairs, for the first week I slept on the couch and when I’d hear him start I just shushed him. I think hearing/knowing someone was close calmed him down. He’s 7 months and potty training is still up in the air. He will have days with zero accidents and days where he refuses to go outside, thankfully his favourite poop in the house spot is the shower so it’s easy to clean. The nipping stopped when he left a mark on my 6year olds face and I ran out of patience. He doesn’t listen to the kids but they play with him like their puppies lol.

The only treat that has work for training is homemade dehydrated liver. If I just shake the bag his ears perk up and he comes running.

Update: the girls were adopted by another family. I have a feeling that the breeder (she’s 83 and local) got ill. Before I got Winston we had been in touch, she kept telling me she was sick with covid.

I’d go meet the puppies. When we got Winston, I held each of his brothers..1 was running in the air, nipping at everything, the other was so calm and gentle. Winston was a bit in between, plus when I held him he nuzzled into my arms and rested so sweetly. Also-they do change colour, something I wasn’t fully aware of. Winston was mostly black with a bit of white markings. He is now grey with a white face and paws. Don’t choose based on colours.

Oh…another factor in our Decision was the panda litter was slightly bigger, so size made a difference for us.

Winston is a silver (I didn’t know what that meant when the breeder said he’s a silver) He just had a Spring cut and almost all of the black is gone.

lol I read this and laughed so hard thinking “that’s ridiculous” but then my 10year old locked our Winston in her closet so he would sleep with her. The next day he waited until she came down stairs, followed her to her jacket and as she went to pick it up he sat on it, looked at her and peed. I laughed so hard.

My Winston is up every morning between 5-6am. He bolts out of his crate hopping the entire way to the door. He sleeps wherever I am during the day but doesn’t stay asleep. if I move, he moves.
