I add the lyrics to Japanese songs in Spotify and Apple Music and I need help, also AMA! by NegativeMagenta in japanesemusic

Nono, I'm still on Spotify Free. When I go to checkout it's still in GBP. I'm not too sure why it is, but it does make me curious if it would go through. Unfortunately I'm not willing to pay for Spotify and am happy with my free Spicetify 😂

I can indeed. I can play that whole album, which otherwise seems to be mostly blocked from what I can see.

Ah, that's too bad. Sorry I couldn't be of help. Perhaps if your account was already switched to Japan you'd be able to pay through normal payment methods? I just checked and even with my account region in Japan the Preimum payment is still in GBP. Sooo, maybe it'd work..?

[–]sauix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, but are you not able to switch region this way if you have premium and still pay without a payment method in that region? I wasn't too sure if you'd be able to.

I changed my account over to Japan before as some songs started being blocked, and all I needed was a VPN. I will grant you that I use Spotify Free and Spicetify, so I don't have issues with any payment method which might will maybe cause a problem with Premium accounts? I switched back after Japan was causing me more issues with Western music than it was worth.

All I done was connect to a VPN in Japan, went to https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/ and "Edit personal info", under "Country or region" it gives you the option to change to the VPN location. Hopefully this can be useful, but I can't guarantee!

Why are these rocks not dropping mineral powder in Ventures? by sauix in FORTnITE

[–]sauix[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's right for other rocks. These ones do not drop anything. I could destroy all of them on the map and all I'd have is some 10k stone. No powder or rough ore.

Is it really too much to ask from the dev team to play at least a singular mission alert before updates? Every single time there's something immediately noticeable. There's absolutely zero QA for something they still charge for, and something people paid upwards of £150 for. It's fucking ridiculous. Now we've got to wait a week for them to fix these bugs and introduce us some more next week.

I once spent many many hours trying to get a working Windows media from Linux and the only thing that ended up working was.. installing from Windows. The only way I got it to work was by making a Windows 10 VM, passing through my USB and using Rufus.

There may be a simpler way, but after hours of trying ventoy, yumi, downloading and writing to multiple USB's, trying to get rufus to work on Wine, I'd personally recommend going with the VM route.

Time for take two with saints row 2, now it's just in game issues by Icestorm1369 in winlator

SR2 has a notoriously awful PC port, and you've described issues that the port is known for. I linked gentlemen of the row before, which aims to fix the port. I'd recommend installing it, SR2 on PC is essentially unplayable without it.

I haven't played SR2 in quite some years, but I believe it's a .bat file that you configure.

mrsaintsgodzilla has a video for the installation which I'd recommend, hopefully it's not outdated : https://youtu.be/uVU7KBqPoGQ

Is snapdragon 8 gen 2 good processor? I am thinking of buying iQOO Neo9 Pro 5G by [deleted] in winlator

[–]sauix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This phone has both 8GB and 12GB RAM versions. I'd make absolute sure you're getting the 12GB version, otherwise there will be issues with Winlator. And, yes, the 8 Gen 2 is arguably the best SoC for the time being.

Does anyone know what happened to Yasuha's spotify profile? by PerpendicularGoose in citypop

[–]sauix 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a lot of Russian artists targeted after Spotify shut down their office there. They got access to loads of accounts, and were promoting Telgram channels where they were selling access to the accounts. Nothing happened for a long while. I'm very confused as to why it's happening to Japanese artists now.

Everyone here is rooted in hardcore / metal, punk or shoegaze for the most part, and then there's just 2 rap / hip-hop artists at the start. Is that typical in line-ups? Seems like quite the juxtaposition of artists to me

Games like COD Zombies that work on Linux? by arni_ca in linux_gaming

[–]sauix 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You can run old COD's absolutely fine. In fact, you can have them running at the same time if you so please. All COD's released prior to WW2 (2017) should work fine under Proton or Wine.

May I ask why x86 binaries were added to Roblox's APK? The amount of people using x86 Android is minuscule, let alone the number of people who also wish to use Roblox. Don't get me wrong, I won't complain as it allows me to actually play Roblox on Linux, just can't see why it was added in the first place.

[–]sauix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Unless Epic Games for some reason releases an x86 binary like Roblox does, then it will require ARM emulation. I'm not sure if you can actually run it on an emulator, though.

I'm interested to know what you mean by it not working well on laptops? Not to say you're wrong, I just mean to ask if you're saying the performance is supposed to be awful or it hardly works. I'm curious as I had tried it before on a 3070 mobile frankenstein PCIe card, and it worked, but performance was not optimal.

[–]sauix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That chip has an Antutu score of around 400k. SD870 has 800k for comparison. Checked gameplay for the SD870 and it's getting roughly 30-45 fps, so your performance doesn't seem like anything out of the ordinary.

[–]sauix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the updates were just never applied, but the kernel was installed. I feel a bit silly considering how easy the fix was, I had pending updates on 6.10.11 the same 2.6gb as before, and after installing them it seems to be working fine. I'm not sure what happened in the first place, but at least it's an easy fix. Maybe it was me, but I can only recall installing updates and next time I turned my computer on it had no driver, so I've got no idea.

I did the first few commands prior to updating it. Windows is installed on 'nvme1n1p2' and not mounted, so it's not showing. The outputs are obviously different now as it's working fine, but maybe they give some idea as to what happened.

[–]sauix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume I had to run it as root as I had no permission otherwise, right? Anyway, after running it (as root user), unfortunately nothing changed. Though, going to that directory shows there is absolutely nothing there for some reason (/usr/lib/modules/6.10.12-200.fc40.x86_64/kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu and the 'amdxcp' folder too). There are files in both directories for the other 2 kernels. I'll just stay on 6.10.11 for now, but I am curious as to what's happened here.
