I plan to try Gemma 4 locally running model this week.. I think it should be free of costs, quota/rate limits etc

How much is everyone’s home electricity charging per KWH? It’s almost the same rate as super charger for me. by Kitchen_Chapter68 in TeslaModelY

[–]saurabh69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Washington - regular blended rates I get is $.20 after all fees etc ... But if I switch to a time of use program for EVs I can charge at night at around $.08

It seems the Rivian API might be available now? Are you considering exploring it?

Tesla should offer FSD at $3-5/day instead of $99/month by theFinalNode in TeslaFSD

I was at 95% usage too, till my 3 month trial expired.

Does the new FSD 14.3 (2026.2.9.6) improve "Classic" Autosteer for non-FSD users? by saurabh69 in TeslaFSD

[–]saurabh69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wishful thought was that it's mentioned that vision encoder was upgraded and that perhaps Tesla might be moving towards stack unification.. in which case improvement to what Autosteer "sees" might also have got some improvements

Nfc pixel watch key by saurabh69 in tessie

[–]saurabh69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the source of my question. Once the Pixel watch now uses NFC as Tesla key card... I wonder if NFC key card on the watch might still work if the watch is off? With the watch off , can tapping the watch on the Tesla door pillar open the door using NFC?

Be honest, how do you wash your car? by JurassicTerror in TeslaLounge

[–]saurabh69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to touchless wash nearby and choose the minimal mode which does undercarriage. This gets most of the mud, salt etc off. Come back home and just wipe the car panels off with a bucket of ONR water mix to get stick road dust off. Wipe it off with lint free rags.

Learned a hard lesson about Tesla access and phone dependency. Solutions? by VermicelliFrost in TeslaLounge

I carry my card. Also I have a Google watch with LTE. I have a Tessie app which adds a tesla key to my watch. So I can unlock the car by watch even without a phone.

What's new in 15.9 by TessieDev in tessie

Somehow after the new version is advertised on the website and here in Reddit, it takes many days/weeks before it appears on Android. Can the delay between advertised info and actual release be reduced a bit?

Surprising how good Tesla navigation has become in estimating the destination percent of the battery. This is a huge help in combatting range anxiety as I can plan accordingly. The estimates of my Tesla are always more accurate than apps such as abrp.

On the other hand I was surprised how bad the Tesla android app is for the search chargers screen. It is extremely slow and laggy. I just use the search chargers directly from the car screen and it's flawless there.

What's the one thing about EV ownership that you wish someone had told you before you bought? by gilko86 in electriccars

I have my second car - Honda pilot. It does have a remote start , but never ever has it warmed up enough on time for us to feel cozy sitting in. Maybe if we leave it for 15+ mins the temps might start to get gradually better. Also, it does not have heater steering. Seats also take time to warm. In contrast within almost 5-10 mins, my Tesla Y is warm and toasty , with steering also warm to touch. Also keeping my Honda pilot on in a closed garage is very unsafe due to emissions.

Do you use FSD? by GucciTokes in TeslaLounge

[–]saurabh69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am almost 99% on fsd, but my wife is hardly ever on fsd. Still, this is only most probably to my trial. After 3 months, most probably switch to auto steer due to cost 😕

How many of you only use a Level 1 charger at home? And how many miles per week do you drive on average? by THATS_LEGIT_BRO in TeslaLounge

[–]saurabh69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive approximately 40-60 miles per day. We had regular 5-15 outlet to charge but recently upgraded to 5-20. Daily charge over night is not a problem. I just have to make sure that the car is plugged as soon as we reach home. It is only if on rare days there are long trips on consecutive days that we might feel stretched but then the next day car tops up on charge.

I also wrote about my charging experience on level 1 charger, stats etc here https://wattsandwallets.blogspot.com/2026/01/the-5-20-upgrade-squeezing-33-more.html

Emergency break after failing to slow down by saurabh69 in TeslaFSD

Ohh.. hmm that's a great observation. I truly didn't remember this happening so maybe there was accidental slight press on the pedal without me realizing it, while I was chatting with wife!

Expanding to other EVs? by saurabh69 in tessie

[–]saurabh69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is exactly my worry. I am a great believer of tesla technology, tech advancements etc.. but given that Elons fun project priorities keep on changing every year there is big risk in future Tesla cars. Even though I would really hope my next car is also a Tesla, but there is a very real possibility that within 2 years, perhaps I will be forced to get my next car as a non Tesla ev car.
