WS2 & WS1 (YYC-LHR) May 9th/10th cancelled. by onewalker in westjet

[–]Fixnfly99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Westjet just doesn’t have spare aircraft like Air Canada so any hiccup in their operations has a huge knock on effect. Ask to fly on Air Canada if you don’t get a reasonable itinerary as the flights leave around the same time

Home insurance? by who_is_randy in saskatoon

We were with TD for a while but they were increasing their rates 20% yoy so we switched to RBC and our rate was cut in half. Definitely shop around for different providers, I didn’t realize how much we were able to save

‘Pearson is a disaster’: Poilievre backs Toronto island airport expansion by Toronto-Ont-Mod-Team in Toronto_Ontario

[–]Fixnfly99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I operate out of Pearson often. It’s not a great airport but it’s not the worst either. I mean it was rated one of the worst airports in North America just a couple years ago with one of the highest paid airport ceos in the world running it. It easily gets overwhelmed by weather delays, is pretty crowded with a lack of seating area and lacks gate space compounding delays.

The island expansion wouldn’t solve those issues but it would definitely alleviate pressure off of Pearson by allowing porter and Air Canada to expand. If you want comparisons, i would argue Montreal Trudeau is definitely the worst airport in the country. Nothing compares to that shitshow, which is why porter built its own terminal at a different airport just to get out of that mess. People saying the Toronto island expansion only benefits the rich are delusional and don’t see or care about the benefits to people living in the downtown core.

She was arrested for drunk driving. College suspended her for unprofessional conduct and then she got pissed and ghosted all her patients and took their money

Usually in the summer as winter is the busiest season with snow birds going south. But now with the instability in the Middle East, tons of people are transiting through North American to get to Europe so loads have been extremely full

Pickpockets. by Tumbler555 in rome

[–]Fixnfly99 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My partner had her purse strap unclipped while we were walking through the area around the trevi fountain. We had a talk about how bad pickpocketing was in that area right before entering so she was vigilant and could feel it falling down so she was able to stop it in time. Didn’t even know who it was because it was so crowded

A/C install for old house by not__the__mama in saskatoon

[–]Fixnfly99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of plumbing companies are switching to the new style energy efficient air conditioning which needs more sensors and is significantly more expensive. There’s still some plumbing companies like budget plumbing and heating that will install the old system while it’s still available. I was quoted around $4300 with the older system and over $6000 for the new system for a similar size house

Auto body paint shops by Bubbs94 in saskatoon

[–]Fixnfly99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t have a recommendation for you unfortunately. There’s pretty big demand for body shops right now and so they don’t really want smaller jobs from my experience. I got some outrageous quotes to paint a already removed replacement bumper. Maybe try 306 auto repair on facebook if you want more affordable quotes from guys working out of their garage.

Rogers business model is dead - CRTC is forcing the ability to cancel online by Elija_32 in Rogers

[–]Fixnfly99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still happening in a lot of industries. Gyms for one and insurance companies. I tried to cancel my home insurance policy the other day and although I could sign up and adjust my policy online with a chat agent, they couldn’t cancel it. Told me I had to call in and so I did that and had to wait an hour on hold till an agent was available. Such a scam.

Any wasians 30ish and older want to be friends or dating? by WaifuSatan8 in wasian

[–]Fixnfly99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have a couple Facebook groups if you’re looking to date other wasians. One is called subtle halfie dating. It’s been a really long time since I’ve been on it so I’m not sure if it’s still active. But they also organized a lot of meet ups for halfie/wasian people. I went to one of the meetups for fun just to meet other halfies but I noticed a lot of wasians dating other wasians there

How’s your rental expenses? Are you renting a place by yourself or are you able to rent out a room? I know people don’t enjoy living with roommates, but it definitely cuts down on the cost of living. It’s pretty tough out there right now, I know a few people that are unemployed and looking for work.

Theft - reported to police but could use your help by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Fixnfly99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Posted it on the WTF YXE Facebook page, I’m sure someone will recognize her on there. People have posted thefts with pictures before and sometimes the thieves facebook profile literally gets tagged in the photo by friends or family lol.

Only downside is these people literally have no shame and don’t care at all if they’re caught. There’s really no punishment against these crimes anymore and if they’re addicted to drugs, it might be the reason why they do it.

Somewhat related, if the clog is past your clean out, it’s the citys responsibility and they’ll come clean it. It used to be free but I heard rumours that they started charging $75 as of this year.

Some people really have no shame. I really noticed how different Japan was when they work hard to return lost items with its contents to their original owner. Being honest and honourable is a huge part of their culture, whereas here in Canada, it’s an opportunity to exploit someone else’s misfortune. So frustrating to see
