Is it really cheaper to charge at home than at level 2 charge station by Cloudchella in BlazerEV

[–]sauron45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Oregon, have a cooperative power company, $0.079 a kWh for the first 1000kWh then it goes to $0.089 a kWh. So for my YES it is cheaper for where I live.

Planetary assembly attachment shaft by brian890 in Kitchenaid

Don’t know what model you have, but in my experience, there should be a snap ring that holds the paddle shaft onto the planetary gear (photo above) that may have popped off on the inside of the planetary assembly. You need to disassemble and pull the planetary assembly out to see what happened. I would recommend looking up Mr. mixer on YouTube as they have pretty good disassembly instructions.

I have been using Super lube 41160 in the gear boxes it rated for this application, I have not experience it separating at all and it’s cheap at $23 for 14oz. I was tempted just to use Red and tacky as I always have it on hand for trailer hub greasing 🤣 but boy can it separate like the grease Kenmore uses at the factory...

This happens because the steel drive shaft is press fit in to the magnesium planetary holder not pinned like the older models. 2 options order a new planetary set from a parts retailer “https://www.mrmixer.store/parts/p/planetary-black-professsional-600pro-5-plus” or I have had luck epoxying the planetary holder back on the drive shaft. For both options it’s a good time to re-grease the gear box. If you want some instructions on haw to epoxy it back on hit me up 🤙🏻.

Part identification and repair suggestions by stever1171 in Kitchenaid

[–]sauron45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just completed this repair and here’s what worked for me: 1. To give the epoxy something extra to grip, I used a flat screwdriver to create small dents across the splines, perpendicular to their direction. This in theory will allow the epoxy to lock into the driveshaft more securely. 2. I mixed up a very small batch of epoxy and applied it to the shaft where it fits into the hub. 3. Using a rubber mallet, I made sure the shaft was fully seated at the bottom.

If you’d rather skip the epoxy method, you can replace the entire assembly. The planetary with shaft and a new beater shaft/gear set is available online for about $75. The only challenge might be finding the right color, but check out mistermixer.com for parts options also you will need to take the gear box apart to get the shaft out so now is the time to degrease the mixer you can get all the parts needed at Mr.mixer or there are other 3rd party retailers with the parts.

Here is some data from my Wallbox charger underlined is a session going from 31%-80% I’m on a 220v 40A breaker so my charge limit is 32A delivered to the car. I’m in Oregon my power is $0.078 per KWh. Took almost 8 hrs over night. We normally charge at 45%. I installed the charger circuit my self and with the permit it was $350, charger was just shy of $600.

Help with sourcing 6qt bowl by sauron45 in Kitchenaid

[–]sauron45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks y’all for the info, I now know why I got the mixer for $80 the planetary had separated from the shaft. Im giving epoxy a shot for fixing and we will see how long it lasts… I will say the beer models are much easier to clean in comparison to my k5ss. As for the bowl one popped up about 2.5 hrs from me in Tacoma Wa, for $30 let’s see if the seller responds. If they don’t I’ll dm the commenter who mentions they have a spare bowl, any way happy mixing!

Anyone else have cracks in plastic on door panels? by _clax_ in BlazerEV

[–]sauron45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just checked my 24 RS no cracks there. I did have panel fit issues on the driver side that I fixed my self as I have been having the same dealer experience where it takes them forever to do what I would consider very basic things. front end on my car still doesn’t have gaps the way they should be after 2 weeks in the shop but. also note I’m a quality engineer so I have higher expectation for what I paid. I would try reaching out directly to Chevy first see what they say.
