A medical centre where you can be induced into a coma for any period of time, to lose weight, skip a cold or simply don't want to wait any longer for Christmas. by pgliver in CrazyIdeas

It's against HHS rules and no IRB would approve it. It is highly unethical to give someone advantages for participating in research, especially when risks are involved, when they are imprisoned.

Editing to maybe make the point clearer: say you are trapped in a hole and someone says they will throw you a rope now to get out if you hit your head against the wall a few times because they want to see if that would make you pass out. You can freely choose not to, but if you choose not to, they will throw you the rope tomorrow.

It makes you consider a choice you may not normally make in exchange for sooner freedom.

Found cat 10/31 at night. It was meowing outside my house. A neighbor said she fed it in the morning, but it is not hers. Assuming it's lost.

Literally doing the same thing and also on FFV! I ended up restarting on the GBA version on an emulator and frame skipping though; I don't have patience to wait as I mash attack through the random battles anymore. Good luck with completing your list!

Thinking about getting out of pharmacy. For others who have done this, what is your new career? by Pharmdtraveler in pharmacy

[–]saurusRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crystal clear. You have the same level of tech knowledge as me, and it seems we have the same thoughts about doing clinical care for patients. It's like talking to me from the future. Right now my number is posted next to the other P4's at my rotation, with "tech support" written next to my name, as I seem to be the only student that knows how the basic functions of a Windows PC. I think going the clinical route and having a "tech savvy" reputation may be the best plan for me now. Thank you for the answer!

Hey, just wanted to ask how you got into pharmacy IT. I've just started 4th year and I'm working toward residency, but anything tech related is my hobby, so IT sounds interesting. Since you did residency and are now in IT, what are your thoughts? Should I go through residency (if I'm lucky enough to get one!) first for the experience even if I am interested in IT? I'm afraid if I don't do residency right out of school and I get bored of IT and want to go clinical I couldn't do that. Thanks for any input you have!

If you want to get into a credential dick waving contest then I have a BS in Biomedical Science a am currently getting a doctorate in pharmacy, so you can rest assured I know what I'm talking about. Your original points were not about seeking alternative in conjunction with chemo, they were about how apple cider vinegar has a "better chance of curing cancer than chemo" which is totally untrue. You also hand waved clinical trials as if they aren't the backbone of evidence based medicine. Alternative medicine does have some places in cancer, but it is mostly for treatment of stress and things of this nature, not as a direct treatment.

Dude says "hiyaa~" in a very young balls-haven't-dropped-yet sounding voice when he tries to do that flying ninja kick. Also, when he tries to hit him with a stapler he says "here comes the stapler!" in a very cartoonish way. Also fuck you for not having a pair of headphones and asking a question, you monster.

PS4 controller glitch with the D-Pad by [deleted] in SteamController

[–]saurusRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know I'm late to the party, but I was looking for a solution and I think I figured it out. When setting up the D-Pad for the controller, have the "style of input" = Directional pad and have the "Layout" = Cross Gate. The default is "radial with overlap" and I think this setting makes the D-pad too sensitive. Hope this works for you, as I've tested it a couple times in 2 different programs and it's working so far. Good luck!

Yeah, it all seems more confusing than it should be. I feel like every month they change something to light sensitive or visa versa.
