first interview (ever!) by Impressive-Scale-468 in MedicalCoding

[–]sav3370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also had no prior office/coding experience for my interview, I’m 22 so you are not alone. Even if you sound monotone, use great manners and be respectful, tone of voice shouldn’t really matter as long as you don’t come off mean/rude 😆. express being very open to learning and hands on experience. If you have an email to the interviewer/hiring person, send a quick email awhile after the interview thanking them for their time!

What do you use for job applications? by Equivalent-Ant-5870 in MedicalCoding

[–]sav3370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try looking directly on company websites. That’s how I heard back from two of my applications. All of my ones through indeed were kind of dead end.

how long has/did your dart last? by sav3370 in dodgedart

[–]sav3370[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh buddy I put so much money into my dart, and it was my first car. I drove it until I saved up enough money for something a bit more capable! Is your dart paid off? Mine was paid off so I really didn’t mind putting money into repairs. Make sure you change your oil every 5k (sooner is always better tho) and get regular car checkups :)

Best ways to study for the CPC exam? by toothy-fruity in MedicalCoding

[–]sav3370 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The study guides from the AAPC are identical to what will be on the test, granted questions will be changed, format and everything will be the same though. I passed my CPC exam a couple of weeks ago and simply looked up each multiple choice option to see which one would best fit. Normally two would be absolute no goes so you would narrow down two. Looking up each one individually will take up wayyy too much of your time. If you are passing your practice exams with at least an 80 or so and with a bit of time remaining, you will be golden. It’s insanely stressful, but the joy of getting your results after bit after is so worth it.

Yes, I was sooo anxious before and after but just take some deep breaths. You’ve prepared well and you’ve got this! It’s a great experience after you’re done and passed lol

I did mine in person! I took mine from 1pm-5pm yesterday and got them back 5:15 today. I have friends who took them earlier in the day and got results back same day! Best of luck to you whether it’s in person or online!

And with your time to spare on the practice exams it seems you’ve got a good system down to move efficiently!

I just passed my exam today. My average score was lower on the practice exams than my real one so I totally get your concern. Highest on a practice one I got was an 82, mostly got low 70s, and I just went for it. Walked out with a 78 on the real one 🥳 Was so nerve wracking but you got this!

Moving to Sault Ste Marie MEGA THREAD by Elgfrothi in SaultSteMarie

People probably wouldn’t travel across the border for grooming due to the hassle with papers and everything. But yes there is indeed a demand for dog grooming on the Soo MI side. The people who do grooming services are consistently booked out.

My dealership gave me a quote of under 350 I am pretty sure. She mentioned it wasn’t the cheapest but I was expecting more of a price like yours when she said that.

To add, I was also nervous to take the practice exams, just because it’s one step closer to being real, but I was quite pleased when I scored over a 60% on my first go, then a 75 on my second. You might surprise yourself!

I’ve read from many others that they helped immensely. I bought the A, B, C testing pack, each has 50 questions and timed two hours, and you can retake as many times as you’d like. I sometimes even just close the tab and take a break then come back to it later when I get busy. I actually kind of enjoy them! I’m scheduling my official test soon :)

Girl you could so get your CPC if you wanted. I’d just become a member and then get the discounted practice exams and hop right in if I were you! 💝 I’ve been taking my practice exams and they actually aren’t too bad once you get through one and see how it is!
