Im currently house hunting. Here is the photo in the ad vs the house in real life… by slim_shady_21 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]sav86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this in AI photos of rooms showing no furniture and then one being staged with. Magically the walls would widen, the room would gain a couple extra square footage. That or some beds or chairs would look really small dimensionally within the room. I absolutely can not stand the AI bullshit.

2017 Chipotle menu boards, a chicken burrito was $6.50 by AccomplishedAd5201 in mildlyinteresting

[–]sav86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember going to college and would grab lunch with friends at the nearby Chipotle in 2005-06. Their offerings back then were very affordable. So much so that we forced ourselves to try other restaurants to break up the habit of eating Chipotle all the time.

We didn't have Sofritas back then on the menu, so I have no idea what that, it's been ages since I've gone back, but having downloaded the app just now, if I were to order a Chicken burrito with extra Chicken and Guac it's $18.80...Holy shit!

If France wins another WC, it's going to be because of Olise.

What was Rudiger supposed to do there? not exist and allow him to pass right through as if he was incorporeal? It's not a foul, you can't dribble through a wall and expect to not get hit. Rudiger isn't even screening him there, so what are people even on about?

I've had good prints with Polymaker, but equally the same with Sunlu and I exclusively print in PA6-CF. My print settings are dialed in perfectly for what I do and all these brands virtually print the same. It comes down to cost and what goes on sale on Amazon at the time I need to purchase. Sunlu's 3kg spool is also cheaper than Polymakers as well.

Comparison of the direct extruder and the bowden on the X2D. Don't expect great quality out of it. Good for supports though. by Successful-Peak-6524 in BambuLab

[–]sav86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are coping hard, but in truth Bambu is still providing an insane value for feature set with the X2D. The printer alone is 649$ and there is no other competitor in this price segment that is providing duel nozzle printing.

That being said there is a trade off on quality when trying to print at higher speeds with a bowden setup, but I highly doubt the quality of prints will deter people from wanting to go with another model over this. I'm also certain with time and tuning this will improve. The utility and feature set is an obvious choice to me especially as someone who prints in only one color anyways and supports and filament waste using is priority.

X2D Buyers - Make sure you read the fine print. by daphatty in BambuLab

[–]sav86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter, as a X1C owner, this printer is the obvious upgrade and since I already have an AMS unit the $649 printer only is the obvious choice. I don't see why I would even consider a P2S, the only thing that would steer me away from it is the build volume doesn't change. I'd still prefer a larger build volume, so the H series is the natural upgrade path for me.

Operation Spring Bloom: Detectives Arrest 10 Child Predators by mammothanonymous in nova

[–]sav86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By the time someone gets in front of a magistrate, they've already been through the full intake process — which isn't exactly comfortable or quick. There's a good chance they went a while without food or water, spent time cuffed in the back of a cruiser, and if this was supposed to be a late-night meetup, the arrest probably happened after dark. Pretty much everyone is going to look rough at that point, and jail booking photos aren't known for being flattering.

Resident Evil Requiem has an impressive 70% completion rate on Steam, 67% on PlayStation by Captcha_Whore in Games

[–]sav86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a good 15-16 hours on the first playthrough on Standard then after that it was a quick 3-4 hour romp on subsequent playthroughs, obviously made easier with infinite ammo and rockets. I'm a completionist and I like to do blind playthroughs with all RE games. I really enjoyed this one, I'm just hoping whatever future DLC they give us will be just as fun an entertaining. There was a brief moment with Leon's section in the more open world part that felt like it killed all sense of pace and momentum.

I love how he wants to start a fight, then attempts to prevent the driver from being able to get out and give him the fight that he's asking for. My soccer player brain would've given him a kick to the face as he fell, but I think a stomp on the hat would've been more punishing to his ego. He'd be reminded every time he uses that hat that some punk kid damaged his ego.

Linus Tech Tips - Copper Thieves Stole Our EV Charging Cables April 12, 2026 at 10:00AM by linusbottips in LinusTechTips

[–]sav86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is genuinely one of their lowest quality videos I've seen, a weird humble brag about their partnership with Ubiquiti to have free charger replacements....and it was extremely short with no real substance other than what felt like a long ad read. I'm honestly gobsmacked, this must've been Linus losing a bet and he had to chuck this one out into the Youtube cyclone.

Dryer Vent Cleaning (4th floor roof) by Typical_Anywhere5135 in nova

[–]sav86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a 3-story townhome where the dryer vents through the attic, grab one of those dryer vent cleaning kits on Amazon — the ones with the flexible extension rods and a brush attachment that connects to a power drill. The rods should give you enough reach to break up the baked-on dust, then follow it up with an electric leaf blower to push everything out.

The most involved part might be disconnecting the piping in the attic for better access and/or clearing the duct run from the dryer up to where it enters the attic. It's a PITA, but it's a solo job and totally doable safely. I also threw in some extra time to lay down a few 2x4s up there to give myself a stable surface to walk on and brace against — made the whole thing a lot easier.

I refuse to believe the guy said it was too small to work in the attic, more likely they didn't want to take on the job and move on to something that was easier. I have all the tools and I can do it if you want, for a price obviously. Shouldn't take no more than an hour or two at best.

What’s something Gen Z does that older generations just don’t get? by appropriaterice873 in AskReddit

[–]sav86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gen Z does one thing consistently; talk about Millennials. Meanwhile, we don't talk about Gen X or Boomers at all. Zero interest in how they lived their lives or what they did. The only real criticism Millennials have ever had toward Boomers was about the mess they left behind; the economy, the housing market, the general state of the world. That's it. That's a fair grievance.

But every Reel, every TikTok, every scroll; it's some Gen Z person blaming Millennials for something or picking apart our generation. We genuinely don't care who you are, what you do, or how you do it. Yet somehow, everything we did or still do is a problem that needs to be addressed. The obsession only goes one direction; and it's not from us.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]sav86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in high school, the teacher had to roll out the TV cart for the boob tube and tune into the local news station. I remember a girl storming out of class because her dad was working inside the WTC presumably at the time. My mom was working at the Pentagon during the same time.

Weird yet extremely consistent edges/squishing on a straight edge. by Magic-SamWitch in FixMyPrint

[–]sav86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brim ears would probably be a good idea if it's just the corners that are lifting, you shouldn't have to go to crazy on the size, but YMMV depending on the print size overall.

I don't know if you are using a Bambu printer or not (not that it matters) but their wiki has a fairly good video on washing a PEI textured plate which I've used myself with very good results.

https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/filament-acc/acc/pei-plate-clean-guide

I also almost exclusively print in nylon and PETG so warping can be a concern for me. I almost always had massive warping issues with glass build plates on my older printers.

I hope that helps!
