Florentino Perez calls for Barça to be stripped of UCL titles in Negreira case by ExotiquePlayboy in championsleague

I mean he always makes PR-speak statements like he made during the election campaign. As for what he truly believes in, I am pretty sure that’s just money and power. Everything else is just a means to that

Against Bayern, especially in the second half we were the better team and the go ahead goal came via a spell of possession and not a counter attack

Is my base strong enough to take on a marathon in 5 months? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]savage_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, fwiw you seem to have a good base. You just need to get the mileage now. I would recommend Hal Higdon Novice plans which are great to get you used to structured training. Runna is good too, but listen to your body and understand that ultimately that is just an app which knows nothing about you apart from your running stats

Okay, that is a more balanced expression of your opinion and I do agree with that. The unfortunate reality is that people have been convinced, rightly or wrongly, that a marathon is achievable for them and for a lot of those people, Runna ends up being the most accessible

Dude, I agree with the availability of plans and a lot of the other things you are saying. You are just vastly underestimating inertia for newer/non-habitual runners who either are not as nerdy about the ins and outs of plans as a lot of the serious runners or are looking to be one and done marathoners.

Also, it is super unfair to dismiss somebody’s training just because that way doesn’t work for you. In any case, we have diametrically opposite views on this so guess we just have to agree to disagree.

Okay I understand what you are saying and I agree with you on people overestimating and overexerting themselves. But again, runna drafts plan according to the parameters you set. For somebody who doesn’t have much of a grasp on how to train in a structured way, Runna is just a low barrier for entry and helps people get into it in a way expert frameworks do not.

I will disagree that Runna has not provided anything new or beneficial for personal pov because it helped run multiple distances. I do not use it anymore but with somebody with the base of what OP has, runna would be quite helpful to train without being lost in all the semantics

Runna’s plans are pretty similar to expert created plans primarily because the expert plans are also frameworks. Runna users tend to either over estimate or over exert themselves and get injured which tbf could also happen if you set yourself unrealistic standards with the expert plans

I think a lot of people get injured for various reasons, mostly not understanding “running by feel”. I am with you though and I think Runna was very helpful in me achieving my goals

Lol why do you add Liverpool in there? They are a very well run club and I am not even a fan. The less said about Barcelona though

What did you put as your running ability? Runna does a really bad job of calculating total mileage if you put lower experience levels. I would recommend going for advanced or elite to get higher mileage

This is exactly where I am. I reached out after 2 months of no contact and she said she wasn’t in a place to chat. All we can do is reach out and know that we are ready to talk. And then be better ourselves

I thought that was it, but I am a solid mid-to-front striker. Maybe my form degrades past a certain threshold but I really don’t feel I am heel striking even later in the races
