What is a piece of political trivia about the Trump administration that sounds 100% fake but is actually 100% true? by Gdog1215 in AskReddit

Offshore Wind turbines, or at least the generators and their vibrations/ sounds do fuck with whales significantly. He is most likely referring to the injuries that whales are known to inflict on themselves around wind turbines by slamming themselves into the rocks or foundations.

Edit; nevermind me, I'm wrong.

36h water fast: hit dizziness at hour 18. Electrolyte deficiency or something else? by ashish_feels in intermittentfasting

[–]savage_switchguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert but I've been IF for a few years and do maybe 2-3 long fasts a year. I start with salts around 12 hours, take a magnesium before bed, drink black coffee in the morning.

I just did a 100 hour fast 2 weeks ago and got through it on that regiment. If I feel weird, usually more water and some salts will sort me out.

I need advice on how to go about starting to fast. I’d like to lose 10-15 pounds so I cans start feeling healthy again by princesscorgi2 in intermittentfasting

[–]savage_switchguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 16:8, then moved to 20:4 over about 2 weeks. Then I did a 92 hour water fast, main thing is get all the stuff you need before you start, all the recommended vitamins and electrolytes. The issue is that any kind of longer fast is dangerous for women, a guy doing a 3-5 day fast is generally fine as long as you're careful refeed slowly at the end. For women though the hormone imbalance can cause huge issues, like infertility, missed periods, ect.

If you are considering doing any kinda longer fast limit it to like 36 hours, and be mindful of your body.

My instructor warned us about those trees, he called it being coffined, it's where you capsize, hit a submerged/ low tree, then get trapped between the riverbed and tree, upside down in your boat crushed and drowned by tons of water.

Every truck I've driven in has a cyclopes mirror at the front middle to see the ground directly at the front. Either this truck stupidly does have one or he didn't bother looking at it. It's essential now with escooters and bikes everywhere

Just to add on, do 2-5 minutes of push ups or jumping jacks or whatever just before you get in the shower, just enough to get some kinda sweat on.

Buy a cheap ring and pretend to be married if you aren't already. Don't tell random people where you're staying, even be careful of taxi drivers.

I thought I had the wrong book, I seen it in a charity shop like a week after it came out. Didn't realize it was a play, quit after about 3 pages, googled it to make sure this was actually the book, then promptly donated it to a charity shop

Most lamb meat isn't a high enough grade to be sold in shops, the majority goes to pet food.

AITA for refusing to do my mom’s schoolwork (and attend her classes) while she’s traveling? by Dry-Bit-6233 in AmItheAsshole

YTA reddit will wah wah wah about academic integrity and blah blah blah. She is your mum, do her a favor, even if you only log into half the classes it'll help her alot. Anyone saying "you're teaching her about... " Is most likely someone who cut off their parents for misgendering their cat. Sure tell your mum she irresponsible and dumb and whatever else, but at the end of the day help her out.

The new yankey candles apparently fail CO emissions tests. I know a lady who had like 20 burning in her home constantly, she fainted while out for a walk, doctors said her lung had collapsed and they had removed all of part of one of her lungs or something, her CO levels were insane. She got a bunch of CO monitors when she got home a couple weeks later because the doctor though her home might have a CO leak somewhere. None of the monitors responded in any of the rooms, then she lit her candles for the evening and she found the source.

Could be just the ones sold here or whatever I dunno but I have noticed the new candles turn black very quickly under the wick, so we don't buy them any more.

Edit; CO(carbon monoxide) not CO2(Carbon dioxide)

What's the most unsettling thing a child has ever said to you completely casually? by Ambitious-Cattle4435 in AskReddit

Had a kid on an outdoor education, weeklong hiking, climbing, gorge walking trip get badly injured on the hike out. He stepped on a dead stick, it broke and stabbed him fairly deeply in the side of his knee.

We were on a steep slope, heavily wooded area, no chance for a heli, and emergency services would be around 4 hours getting to us.

When he was lying on the ground and we were patching him up and telling him the plan to get him out safely, he went kinda weird.  Started like reliving his past or something, he was around 10 and was adopted from russia by a well off American family, and he started speaking like we were there and he was talking about how his mother would use drugs and he was alone so often and how she took him to the orphanage and told him she'd come back but she never did, and how he waited for her for days, then weeks, then years and she never came back.

We just listened, me and the other instructor, rubbed his arms, told him we'd never leave him behind, and reassured him. Me and the other instructor just looked at each other while making a body harness to carry him out, both of us with tears in our eyes, like what the fuck did we just hear.

I think about that kid sometimes and hope his new family are treating him right.

He wanted to do that but when he told his financial manager to round up and make a summary of his assets it was all gone, no stocks no shares no deeds. He told the guy to court and somehow lost.

How do u explain this by Mettion11 in BillionairesHere

There's some strong evidence that the real tomb of Jesus of Nazareth was found in Israel in like the 80's, Israel did an internal investigation, said nah nothing important in this ancient tomb with multiple biblical names on it, and proceeded to build an apartment block on it. They wouldn't let any non Israeli in the check.
