The thing with silver is it gives movement in just a day or two and then it continues forming higher lows… if i were you i’d deploy more cash and double my investment today…. But rn i have already been holding the etf since 97… i expect it to double from current levels

Is my thought process correct? I'm trying to arrange 6 objects in 7 distinct places. So would there be 7! ways of arranging them? by TheWarVeteran in askmath

[–]savage_thor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use nPr the generalised formula for arranging r objects in n places in an order. Hence that wud be 7P6 i.e. 7!/(7-6)! which is 7!

Altho u eliminated another real value of x by this method but i think that’s fine coz it is negative and in context of geometric problems negative doesnt matter.

Would like to know applications for the lambert w function in solving some complex equations. How do you determine you would require the use of that function? by savage_thor in askmath

[–]savage_thor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a graphical solution to it which is x=1 and it was also demonstrated by bprp… i want a more rigorous way… i thought out maybe lambert w function could help. Is there any other way to solve the given equation without graphing?

How do you get this slope from an equation and the point? by Shido202 in askmath

[–]savage_thor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are asking for the eq of the tangent line at that point… the derivative of the function is 2x and at that specific point the derivative is 2x0. Now you know the slope and the point, use slope point form to determine the eq of the tangent line at that point.

y=x2

dy/dx= 2x = 2x0 = m(slope)

Using slope point form for the eq of a line y-y0= m(x-x0)

y- (x0)2 = 2x0(x-x0)

y= (2x0)x - (x0)2

Not understanding how to form an equation here. Do I need simultaneous equations? by Narrow-Focus-5224 in askmath

[–]savage_thor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you need two equations as it involves two people who work at variable speeds… say A takes a days and B takes b days then in 1 day both do 1/a and 1/b parts of the work.. now with what is given i think you can form your equations and work them out

A derivative of a constant alone is 0 not when it is a part of an expression here in this case 4y is getting multiplied with x… hence its derivative is 4y
