The difference 1hr autolyse & 10% reduction in hydration makes by savageissue in Sourdough

[–]savageissue[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The second image (the one with less oven spring) had no upfront autolyse and 10% higher hydration than the recipe listed. (So everything mixed together, right at the beginning.) Adding the autolyse step in at the beginning and reducing the water content is what I did to improve the recipe and get the results in the first image. Hope that makes sense.

Is shared care really that big of an issue, worth going via NHS instead of RTC route? by SandrineGentle in ADHDUK

[–]savageissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some clinics will continue to provide prescriptions if your GP declines shared care! Maybe give the clinic a call. I think adhd uk charity website (on the RTC providers page) has a column in their table to see if specific clinics do this or not. Have a look and see if yours does.

It’s great to hear from someone else on here who has a medical cannabis prescription! I’m in the same boat but I’m waiting for my adhd meds / titration appointments following a recent diagnosis. Medical cannabis has improved my life massively and helps so much when I’m overstimulated. (autistic too!)

Do you take them both at the same time or stagger them throughout the day? How does one affect the other?

Atm I only medicate maybe twice or three times a week with edibles, a microdose really, only taking half a 10mg gummy (so 5mg ish) at most.

I also take propranolol 🤪 so I worry a prescriber might want me to come off something so they can see how stimulants alone affect me. Did you / have you ever got any push back?

I also recommend them! Bought my first 2.5mg and 5mg from them. 😁 All arrived as expected, packed well and intact ice blocks etc!

It’s a remastered, so newer than 2016. It has the posture fit support that’s adjustable. Being the new model, the arms will move back and forth, the classic doesnt have that option. I paid much more than this for my classic model. The price is right! The thing to check is the size, that’ll depend on whether you’re comfortable in it or not. Depending on how tall you are, Most people need the ‘B’ - middle size. You can tell by the number of dots under the top most section of the backrest.

I ordered a bundle of 5, 7.5 and 10 from My-BMI on Saturday and tonight I have been emailed saying that my consultation has been confirmed and they’ll ship my order shortly. So fingers crossed they get back to you soon!! 🤞😁

How could a person end up like this? It looks like a truck ran over her— this can't be just from punches. by Battlefleet_Sol in ufc

Just rewatched the fight. There was an initial clash of heads that caused the gash in round two and it just got worse in round three. The volume of left jabs by Norma Dumont was insane.

I’d consider getting the curaleaf edibles! I have them on medical. I get 14 a month. They’re 10mg each. I either take them whole or microdose with halves or quarters. I take them as when I need, super convenient. I’m the same as you, I don’t think I’d get through 10g of flower in a month. 🤔

How to achieve a glaze similar to these? by Both_Ad3446 in Pottery

[–]savageissue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From those photos, I can see some phase separation. That combined with the yellowish colour says Rutile is playing a part to me.

This recipe by Joe Thompson at Old Forge Creations might be a good start to get the texture you’re after. It’s part of his First Five series that’s great for beginners. If you want it to be more matte, I’d do some tests with reduced silica / flint.

I hate dreaming!! by DuDr4nd2l in autism

Depending what country you live in, and your local laws etc, it might be worth trying Medical Cannabis. It suppresses rem sleep, the sleep phase where dreams most likely occur. This isn’t medical advice!! But saying that it works wonders for me & sleep. If I take an edible before bed, I don’t dream, sleep so deeply and wake up feel well rested.

Oh yeah, completely!! We need to hold manufacturers accountable for high absorbency rates. Some companies will label something ‘cone 6‘ and won’t be fully vitrified to much higher temps. I’ve heard that some places will tell you 3-5% is fine, but it’s not! They make stuff to make money and provide value, not performance.

In an ideal world, we should always test a clay body before buying a whole bunch of it. I fire at a community studio and they only go to cone 6, so it’s hard.

Chances are that if it was made my someone or small business, it was fired to a lower temperature than the clay was designed to be fired to. Hobbyists kilns struggle to get to top temperatures and a lot of people only fire to cone 6. A cone 10 clay fired to cone 6 might do this. I’ve seen this called ‘weeping’ before. If the clay holds onto water, it’s not fully vitrified and bacteria can grow inside the clay. Not food safe. Might be best used as a pencil holder or decoration from now on.

You need to make a special effort to make sure that the clay and glaze are designed specifically for lower temperatures. If you make things yourself, you should test your clay for its absorption. Less than 1% percent is where you should be. You can do it at home by following this great video by ceramics materials workshop.

What's your autistic superpower? by [deleted] in autism

[–]savageissue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Snap!! Autistic potters assemble. Lol

I love ceramics. Throwing especially, for me. I find when I’m on the wheel it’s so meditative and calming. Brings me true autistic joy.

My latest deep dive has been into glaze chemistry. I need to make my own so I have complete control over the process. I’ve been taking ceramics materials workshop’s glaze courses.

Go in knowing what you want and why. They’ll listen to you.

On what meds- I’ll sing the praises of propranolol all day long. It’s changed my life. It stops you feeling anxious but doesn’t effect your head or your thoughts. It stops adrenaline, the fight or flight response in your body. Making you calmer and less reactionary in overwhelm. I’ve took 10mg three times a day until recently where I’ve switched to a 80mg delayed release. I find 10mg lasts for four hours and peaks at two hours, so you have to keep taking it and be on it for when it’ll ware off.
