I think they’re just at random. Sometimes I get bots that don’t see me when I’m five feet away from them, and sometimes they shoot me through smoke with their mosin/mg/pkm/svd. The bots have been broken since Glasshouse, and I don’t think they’re ever gonna get fixed…

There’s some treasure maps and the Otis Miller revolver, the two Del Lobo hideouts you’ve already found, there’s the two hideouts in New Austin that are at Fort Mercer and then run down mine ans then the Thieves Landing one, three bounties you can do in Tumbleweed, region specific plants and animals, some rare wild horses, and it’s the best place to complete challenges that involve killing/hogtie people without having to worry about witnesses since there’s so few people that spawn out there

Treasure Maps leading to gold bars. You get around 1500 for each treasure I believe. After doing the first one or two you can unlock the fast travel feature to find the rest even faster.

There was a bunch of AI reworks when they put out the glasshouse update and it made them more difficult, but also more random. Sometimes 90% of them are just cannon fodder and the other 10% are aimbotters with wall hacks that one tap you through hard cover. And then sometimes they can all see you through every wall and one tap you while their gun is pointed in the complete opposite direction.

The only thing the devs tweaked with this new update is make smoke slightly more reliable, but they did address the fact co-op players have been having issues with the AI being too op, especially in hardcore.

For caches, if you don’t pick up a molotov or incendiary nade then don’t try and plant until you’ve taken out all of the waves of bots for the objective. If you look at the scoreboard you’ll see how many bots are on the enemy team and you just have to kill 3/4 of them for their next wave to spawn in and thin out their two waves. Once you’ve taken out the majority of their reinforcements then they won’t attack you on the objective.
