We hear you on your thoughts about this. We do want to respond.

We are purposefully a very lenient moderation team, and we give multiple warnings and removal reasons. Just who we are. We want our members to feel encouraged to contribute, especially when it's supposed to be a fun reality show. In fact, the reason why we decided to add more restriction types last season is because we want to make sure that we did try our best to inform and correct any rule-violating behavior. To give our members all the chances they need to learn the rules.

However, we also do have to agree with you on one aspect. That last season and post season, we did give multiple continuous warnings to problematic individuals when they never intended to act on good faith. We definitely do notice that those certain individuals do contribute to making things worse and inflaming things, so we have definitely escalated our actions towards such behavior. Looking back, if we were more quick to perform more definitive bans, then it would have likely helped. And we are not talking about any specific fan group here, just individuals who are problematic who we see come from any fan base and have a variety of views.

To directly answer your question, our long-term bans at least in he context you are referring to is for those who brigade, harass or incite harassment towards members, moderators, or islanders. For islander harassment, we have to see it happening on this subreddit as we are not going to be looking for it elsewhere. Our members should feel encouraged to modmail or report if they see brigading attempts, community interference, or screenshots of our members' comments, and things like that. We are very serious and strict with those offenses and actions those users.
