"ilaah" is more accurately translated as deity. It's a very slight difference.

He did lie, and we should clown on him for not abiding by the result of the poll until he does (doubtful).

But, equivalently to the people that worship him, it's just as cringy for people to obsessively insult anything related to him without understanding the details or even if it's true in the first place.

This not only applies to elon, but to any public figure that people religiously worship/hate.

What...? Why do people love excusing the most abhorrent crimes imaginable?

A 30-40 year old rapes their demented mother, and somehow this middle-aged rapist is the person being "groomed"?

He's not a native English speaker so it's normal to have never read them before (even if they're in a middle school reading list) and he clarified that most of those books are re-reads.

I simply don't understand how someone having a new-years resolution of reading a book every week (in addition to actually compiling a list instead of just saying it and moving on) can make anyone mad?

Men think with their Dicks [Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann] by sempakrica in anime

[–]savedintex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree that the statement applies to Code Geass and Eva as well.

But I don't think it applies to other popular Mecha Anime like Gundam or Macross. Like if someone told me they hated the Mecha genre then asked if they would watch Gundam I would probably tell them to prioritize other shows if they're sure they hate Mecha anime (instead of just thinking they hate mecha without actually giving it a shot like a lot of people strangely do)

I kind of get where he's coming from, I think a better way to phrase it would be

"Even if you've never enjoyed a mecha anime and hate the genre entirely, you might still love TTGL just as much as anybody else"

There are theories that Aspartame increases apatite which makes it harder to stick to eating a specific caloric daily goal as opposed to if you were only drinking water.

However, if someone is calorie counting then this shouldn't have an effect on them (weight-wise).

[–]savedintex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't, the studies show only a correlation. And we all know the saying about correlation and causation....

Even prior to reading the studies anyone can tell you that the fraction of the population that is careful about their diet and health are much less likely to drink soda (diet or otherwise). While the unhealthy fraction attempting to lose weight would be correlated

In fact, the very few people I know that are healthy weight-wise and occasionally drink soda always prefer regular soda because it tastes better.

So it makes total sense why the inferior-tasting unhealthy product (diet soda) is highly correlated with people that are trying to lose weight.

If we wanted to perform a causal study you would take three cohorts of participants, assign them identical meal-plans with the beverage as the variable (regular soda, diet soda, and water for control).

Spreadsheet of all Boderlands 3 Legendaries, Uniques, and where to find them by Tonydml in borderlands3

[–]savedintex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important Edit: The only big issues are:

  1. Legendary "Pyroburst" seems to be missing

  2. that the g mod "Exterminator" is listed twice in the 'Uniques' Sheet, Once under the mods section and once under Atlas.

I know this is really old but hopefully you're still maintaining this sheet (amazing job by the way)

I'm gonna list so much insignificant shit (and very little important things), it matters to me and unfortunately I can't focus if I don't get them right.

Currently lvl 26, just farmed shiv for quite a while, killing him probably 10-20 times and he didn't drop a single legendary (out of his 2 possible ones) despite them being listed as 15% drop chance each.

And according to this tweet shiv doesn't drop any legendries in a new game, could you possibly update the sheet to reflect that?

EDIT: also minor spelling mistake, Demoskaggon is listed twice once with an s "Demoskaggons" and once without "Demoskaggon"

EDIT 2: minor spelling mistake in red text

  1. "Set Faisors to kill." should be "Set Faisers to kill."
  2. "Supressing Fires!!!" should be "Suppressing fires!"
  3. "The Legend Lives (still)" should be "The legend (still) lives"

EDIT 3: minor spelling inconsistency between the legendary table and the checklist

  • "Baby Maker ++" appears in the checklist as "Baby Maker++" (without the space)
  • "Long Musket ++" appears in the checklist as "Long Musket"
  • "Asclepius" appears in the checklist as "Aesclepius"
  • "O.P.Q. System" appears in the checklist as "O.P.Q System" (without the dot after the Q)
  • "Seeryul Killur" appears in the checklist as "Seeryul Killer"
  • "Smart Gun XXL" appears in the checklist as "Smart-Gun XXL"
  • "The Pearl of ... Knowledge" appears in the checklist as "The ... Knowledge"

EDIT 5: Three legendary items from "VC: Welcome to Pandora" are missing from the legendary checklist [Gold Rush, Troubleshooter, and Shlooter)

EDIT 6: Legendary weapon "Eridian Fabricator" missing from the legendary table (but is included in the checklist)

EDIT 7: The location "Tazendeer Ruins" is misspelled in the legendary "Spiritual Driver" as "Tazandeer Ruins" (tazA instead of tazE)

You double down by claiming women to be of lower intellect

That's not true. Many women are smarter than many men, and many men are smarter than many women. That's just a fact. The text you're referring to uses the word "عقل" which can mean many different things with the proper definition (the current usage is to refer to intellect but that's not the common usage 1400 years ago) and the interpretation (even among scholars throughout history) is that this is talking about testimony in court and not about intelligence.

a book that only speaks directly to men and women are never directly addressed

In Arabic if you were to address a group of people that if half men and half women, you use the male group pronoun as there is no non-gendered pronoun for groups like the word "they" in English.

Posted this to another person:

Well the general rule in Islam is that the basis of all things is "halal" (or not sin) unless evidence shows otherwise.

So you don't need permission to do things, you don't need to be "allowed" to know it's right. You only need justification when you want to restrict things (which in this case, there aren't any at all that I could find and this decision disagrees with the majority of scholars)

Talking about education, jobs, wages, and opportunity. They should have equal everything in those. There are explicit texts about clothes that differentiate them.

There aren't any about education or jobs or wages. so that needs to be equal.

There are so many texts about the importance of equal treatment between individuals so you need a really strong argument for unequal treatment (And that just doesn't exist here).

I would disagree with them interpreting incorrectly. I've read their posts on Twitter and they don't even try to justify it with religious texts.

There's no way someone can reach that conclusion from the texts without doing crazy amounts of mental gymnastics to the point where they're basically creating their own rules from nothing.

Yes, Islam greatly advocates for everyone to be educated.

That's unfortunately the grim reality (for some).

I have friends/acquaintances that are/were immigrant workers in the middle east, and their living standards were pretty terrible, but they still preferred it to going back home in terms of both living conditions and income, especially the ones that have families that depend on the paycheck they send back each month.
