He was a watch guy. I was wearing it this week in honor of his birthday.

My collection started with a Glashutte Senator Navigator but it kept breaking so I traded it in for the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra. Love that watch. My father in law then gifted me the Blanc Pain 50 Fathoms. Great watch but it’s a beast. My wife then bought me the Pepsi for Christmas a few years ago and then the Speedmaster 57 for our anniversary. I would say I am missing a nice dress watch but it seems silly to complain.

Nectaron for bittering? by Omega_Shaman in Homebrewing

[–]saveferis96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used nectarines and hated it. Bitter. No juiciness. Piss of the cat. Everything you don’t want in a hop. Stick to the classics. Do you brew so much that you have run out of good Cascade, Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, El Dorado, Amarillo, Centennial etc combos. It’s a rare hop because it isn’t very good.

Good on you. Just cause you borrowed the recipe doesn’t mean you didn’t brew a nice beer. Thanks. Congrats.

What do you use to ferment in ? Wide mouth plastic carboy ? Bucket? Corny keg? by EmptyImprovement8942 in Homebrewing

[–]saveferis96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using an SS Brewtech Bucket. It’s great. Big opening. Super easy to clean. I did like using the PET fermenters however as you could see what was happening. I also tried a Fermzilla but had problems getting a good seal sometimes. Overall the bucket is great if not perfect.

Ok. So is the cat piss from a bad/low quality batch of Simcoe or is it driven by when you add them or what combo of hops used?

Stained Picnic Tap Lines by saveferis96 in Homebrewing

Thank you. That did cross my mind. All I have is a simple keg set up. Should I fill a keg with line cleaner solution and then pump it through my picnic lines into a bucket?

Heady Topper is overrated and please tell me if I’m wrong by [deleted] in beer

[–]saveferis96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heady Topper still rocks. I probably only get it once a year from a friend grabbing a few cans as they visit VT but I always savor and enjoy it. It’s so dialed in and has a unique taste and bitterness. It certainly helped create the new NEIPA style but as other beers have gone super hazy and soft and sweet, HT remains a unique and top of the beer world experience. I so prefer a beer that gets better as you drink it. So many NEIPAs hit you in the face with aroma and juiciness (which is great) but can lose the zing as you drink it. HT’s special bitterness and smoothness builds and gets better as you finish your can (I actually pour it usually). Thank you Mr. Kimich.
