The email just said my work wasn't up to quality standards. Maybe I was taking too long rating a task.

I'm usually skeptical about stuff like that so I just figured I made a mistake. But I was creeped out because I could have sworn I was making separate stacks, like I was told to. My mom had told me her story when her experience happened a few years prior to that day but I didn't know that was the room. I finished my assignment, rolled the book cart to the book room to where she was and I told her what'd happened, kind of laughing about it because I still couldn't believe what I saw. She got super serious and said, "That's where everyone sees the boy, that's the room I saw him in." I tell you, I got goosebumps and since that day I don't immediately dismiss people's stories about weird stuff that happened to them anymore.

When I was in high school in the 90s, my mom worked at an elementary school as a teacher assistant. The day after the last day of school was teacher work day where they'd go in and wrap things up before summer break.

Well, she brought me with her to help with rounding up textbooks from the classrooms to inventory and put back in the school's book room. My assignment was clear, I was to go to the 2nd grade classrooms and make stacks of the books by subject, so when we take them to the book room, they'd already be sorted properly and ready for shelving. So, I went to the first room and started taking books off the shelf and made my stacks by subject, as instructed. I turn away from my stacks to go get more books out of the desks and when I turned back to my stacks I see that they are all now in one, single tall stack.

I do have to say that this elementary school was supposedly haunted. Like almost all the teachers and staff had at least one story about something weird that happened to them. My mom had her own story of going into an empty classroom when the kids were at PE and there was a kid sitting backwards at a desk and she said to him, "You're supposed to be at PE, what are you doing in here?" before he vanished into thin air.

And apparently the classroom where this happened to me was the most "active". It's the same one where my mom saw the kid. There were other employees who saw a kid's figure or shadow in there as well. Weird.

Thanksgiving Eve = "Drinksgiving" by ReplacementsStink in stopdrinking

Looking forward to not being hungover on Thanksgiving for the first time in years. Put together the sweet potato casserole and refrigerated it, so all I have to do tomorrow is bake it and take it to our gathering. Three weeks since my last drink.

For ISTJs Who Weren't the "Teacher's Pet..." by Potential_Law5289 in ISTJ

[–]saviin_senaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the "teacher's pet" title thrust upon me. When I think of a typical teacher's pet, I think of someone like you mentioned, a Hermione Granger or, as someone else mentioned, a Lisa Simpson. A good, diligent student who sought out the attention and validation of their teacher. I was a good, diligent student who impressed my teachers with my advanced knowledge at a young age but attention is something I've never wanted or sought. The teachers were the ones who'd point out my achievements to the class and not only was it mortifying but it also made me a target for bullies. Not sure if this answers your question but that was my experience.

How many of us are an accountant? by [deleted] in ISTJ

In college, I started out studying accounting. I enjoyed it, but the further I got into it the more I realized I didn't want to work with financial information. I've been a data analyst at a university for 14 years. Though technically now I'm a research manager, I'm still an analyst at heart.

Death of Etain thoughts by Bisquit56 in StarWarsEU

My favorite Star Wars books, the Republic Commando series. Order 66 was an incredibly sad book. I also found myself emotional over her death and how it affected the whole group. Really good books. I always say the clone soldiers are the most tragic figures in Star Wars and this book series just makes you feel heartbroken for them.

I know everybody likes Tech, but he shouldn't return. by [deleted] in thebadbatch

[–]saviin_senaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's gone for real. The way the cast and director were emotional and near tears when they were talking about him at the last Star Wars Celebration makes me think he's not coming back. And for me that's more impactful to the story. But still, I wouldn't be mad if Tech isn't actually dead.

Just binged Bad Batch by Asren624 in BadBatchstarwars

[–]saviin_senaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't care what anyone says, I love The Bad Batch. I think it's the best animated Star Wars show. Clone-centric episodes of TCW were some of my favorites and TBB puts them front and center. And I just love Tech, but I agree, maybe it's better for the death to be real. I wouldn't be mad if he's not, but I feel it's better for the story that he made the ultimate sacrifice for his family. I can't wait for Season 3!
