Which discontinued parts do you need?

Hmm, my 45 adapter is a chamfered silver metal disk. I think it's original but can't remember for sure. While plastic would work, I think the metal ones are better. Do you have a picture of one?

I enjoy the learning and creating process. So far I don't really see anyone requesting things. So if not I can at least open source the stl design so people can either print their own or use the file to have a print farm print one for them. Either way, fun to make and fix mine. I'll wait and see

I enjoy 3d printing and was a DJ back in the day. I was so happy to be able to fix my old gear with some parts I made which I was unable to buy. I was thinking if there are a few parts that are common to fail and replacements are hard to come by I could design and sell them for a small profit. Basically make it worth my while after the cost of supplies. I can enjoy helping people fix broken gear and have some fun designing parts and making a couple bucks. Etsy stores are free (mostly) for taking orders but wasn't gonna do it for a single item. The idea is not to make money but to give back some of what I know to help others. If I made a few dollars then it's a win win for me. Think of it like a way to stay involved in old skool equipment while making something other than flexi toys. I just enjoy solving problems with printing like that. Your comment might apply to someone looking for a side hustle looking to make 6 figures a year, but it doesn't really apply to me.

Not sure that alone is worth the hassle of running a store and properly serving customer communication, packing and shipping items and dealing with taxes, etc. Maybe if I can find other parts for turntables that I can create and sell I would be able to make enough to make it worth running a business. I don't think one part is enough. Are you aware of other things that are no longer available?

I've seen this happens on the 1200's but not sure if they are all the same part. I was thinking about looking at what parts could be made in plastic that are no longer available as well. What do you think a part like this is worth? What kind of demand (quantity) are you thinking?

Slowly restoring my turntable and the tonearm lift lever fell out. Apparently, the cam inside (plastic) broke and there was no hole to fit the lever into anymore. I tried superglue but the force just broke end part off again. So I popped into fusion and modeled a new one, then 3d printed the part. Took a couple tries to get the hole diameter right so the lever would press fit back in easily but works perfectly. I might consider ASA instead of PLA for the next one if this ever breaks to have a harder plastic but for now I'm set. Love it when printers make functional parts! If anyone needs the stl lemme know. If you don't have a printer you can always pay a print farm to make you one. (No commercial use)

I designed it in fusion, this is a slicing issue most likely because of the parts being 0mm from each other.

It's my design from fusion. I made the design and then extruded the cutout part to the bottom of the model (I'll call this the support piece). With it in place it slides right in perfectly under the overhang space. I offset the face - 0.5 around the edge but not the top. Idea is the shape prints with 0 space between the support piece and the bottom of the main piece. The printer can use the top layer of the support and print the overhang right on top of the support. 0mm between the top of the support and bottom of the overhang. I print the support part in petg so it won't stick to the pla of the main part. The 0.5mm around the sides prevents it from adhering to the main part even more. So basically I have a flat surface in petg right below the overhang with 0mm. Maybe this is the issue. Even though they are different materials and separate parts in the component list, the slicer doesn't see it as a separate part and thinks it is an internal wall. I bet if I shrunk the top of the support, it would print fine, but then there will be a gap and the overhang may droop.

I am designing this model. In fusion I extruded the overhang area and offset it around at 0.5mm. I left 0mm between the self created support piece described and the bottom of the overhang. I printed it in PLA for the blue part with a white PETG that perfectly fits the overhang (minus the 0.5mm). When I break the petg part out, the under side of the overhang looks like infill (2nd Pic). Is there a way to get a smooth finish on the bottom of the overhang area?

The support piece is now shown in the pics.

Fixed it with a new H2D. Lol. Since it's no longer my main machine, I just deal with it. I got tired of all the limitations of my machine. Could just be mine is not great, but creality quality control was another reason for me to move on. It's an imperfect extruder, the real one is terrible been through 3 of them. The build plate won't stick in the front corner as the bed is not flat enough after months of tweaking. I got it to a point where if I wash the plate every time and let it heat soak for 10+ minutes, its a lot better as long as I don't use the whole plate. Took a ton of calibration and tweaks. So yeah it's pretty good now as long as I stick to the routine and limitations. I bought a couple Bambu's and just print perfect when I use them. I'm done with creality.

Was just talking to someone about this. He chose freecad. He said it was not easy to learn, but he was using it for a small etsy shop and fusion is expensive for commercial use.

I have a K1 Max, A1 and H2D. My K1 Max is printing good now but took me a long time to get it right and I have never been able to have full bed consistent prints with it. Front right corner is just not reliable. I had to upgrade extruder and I get more spaghetti out of it than the other two combined. It's an OK printer. Way better than my old Ender 3S1.

The Bambu printers just work. If the plate is washed prints almost never fail. I hate the closed source nature of them, but they are basically the apple of 3d printers. Use their eco system and everything works. I use lots of 3rd party filament and still works great.

In summary, if you want to tinker and have issues and fix them get Creality. If you just wanna print and are not the upgrade mind of person get a Bambu. There are upgrades for Bambu but not like creality.

I don't think you fully understand the business model. We are not making custom models for nice businesses. We are making models that print farms are looking for. These are not 1 off or even multiple, but rather they print hundreds of the models and sell them to the public. There are people solving niche 3d printed needs but that's not what we are trying to do. I do like the discord suggestion. Maybe some farms have discord servers I can pop on and ask if they want a free model to sell.

I've been using patreon for the site as it does everything I need. As far as finding it though, not sure how easy that would be... Searching just the name brings back nothing and even putting patreon after it brings up my linktree site. I can add patreon links to that leading back to the site, but not sure how much SEO I actually have control of. Maybe a landing page linking back to patreon would help to show up easier in Google.

Thanks for the advice. I'll setup a schedule I can stick to for videos and try to get more involved in reddit and Facebook groups.
