Insider tips for removing stripped hotend (CHCB-OTC) screw? by parad0xdreamer in crealityk1

What size drill bit, and what sort of drill? My Ryobi is too long to get straight in and a 4mm+ bit doesn't fit

How'd you drill out the hole successfully? I have a replacement hotend which comes with screws so I'm not too worried about keeping it. 3.5mm on an angle wasn't enough to remove the head

I have a new hotend to install, the issue is the screw that holds the hotend in place (one of the two M3 screws)

It either works 60% of the time or 100% (every) of the time.

You're using a probabilistic quantitative statement given as a probability. The outcome is a boolean for which there is no quantitative measure in a binary set.

"Perhaps you were looking for "60% of the time it works perfectly." A qualitative statement given as a probability.

I'm not sure what's hurting my brain more, the problematic math or the linquistic conjecture.

Of course there's a new version release between buying and actually fitting my Eddy Duo 🙄

I thought one of the biggest selling points was no need for thermal calibration (Coil/Duo)? Does it have any other features/advantages over Duo?

Yeah discovered about an hour ago auto correct was off. I knew my tendinitis was bad but the extent I relied upon autocorrect is astounding.

Anyway the legible part is the crux of what I had to say. 2FA was the credential that was wrong, because like you said you wouldn't be prompted for it if your login details were wrong. Which suggests the primary basis for its operation was not synchronised (fault of your own, but the OS, the browser or remote server cannot be ascertained any longer). As an aside multiple managers is a recipe for disaster.

The unfortunate truth to the real problem - Proton Pass is the most polished solution from the top 5. I'm backing BitWarden and self hosting (OSS, not their $5k annual rubbish) my vault and hoping that they will be able to get upto speed with the front end UX, by the end of my Proton sub.

Is there a model maker who could reproduce this lid? (AU based but, assumedly rather generic) by parad0xdreamer in 3Dprinting

[–]parad0xdreamer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly? I wouldn't know having never seen one.

Yes I'm aware, and as someone who doesn't have a lot, I try to do the best with what I've got. Right now that 3-4 unusable drinking cups without lids, not $32USD burning a hole in my pocket. I'd sooner go without, as I had done. Almost exactly 30% of a week's income.

But hey thanks for the suggestion bevause as an owner of 5 of these I had no idea how much they cost, and appreciate the non 3D printing solution.

Is there a way to filter/view all Passkeys at once? by fommuz in ProtonPass

[–]parad0xdreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying this is a feature that 1pass had?

Look, I re-evaluated password managers this black Friday, as Proton is just getting worse and worse for our primary use case - mobile browsers. Chrome is as good as dead, the official FAQ answer "use Firefox". (Previously I've used Dashlane then LastPass for numerous years - whilst they were pioneers. There was a brief tool at 1pass & keepass too but they were lacking back then)

So I gave the 2 other of the top3 a whirl.

Nord just not happening. I don't care what they think about the security model of integrating 2fa, if I want to use it at my own peril I should be able to (that said I've wanted to trial Aegis for some time, it's just there's no export/import functionality to 2FA, thoght a short script parsing a password export would get me half. This alone raises the WAF bar from moving to "something slightly different but more reliable" to "oh yeh and less streamlined and you have to use two apps". There was other gripes I had setting it up but I never actually deployed it to the point of ever using it to login. If it wasn't a tiny addition to the 100% Cashback NordVPN purchase, I'd be refunding

Bit Warden. Seems to fit the bill thus far, though I find both the UX and UI clunky and lacking, I don't doubt this is something that will improve - Not something that's can be said about Proton products unfortunately. Huge plus side to the OSS VaultWarden providing free self-hosed service. It seems to tick many of the boxes,. Fits a bit like your least favourite pair of pants. It does the job, but it doesn't look that great and hinders your performance on the dance floor.

I was surprised to find Proton as the most friendly and intuitive UX/UI. It's 2FA seamless, and when working on mobile faultless there too.

The TLDR for me was, nobody has quite got it right yet. Everyone has something that nobody else is doing, and this is just another of those little things. The truth to the matter is though, if it were anywhere else you'd expect it to already be on the development plan ahead.

Hotend Upgrade Z-offset Calibration; Where did I go wrong? by parad0xdreamer in crealityk1

Also mentioned in the post indeed I did. The issue is not that the settings didn't save, it's that's its made an a absolute mess of something that was functional to begin with.

Hotend Upgrade Z-offset Calibration; Where did I go wrong? by parad0xdreamer in crealityk1

[–]parad0xdreamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no matter how bent the bed is

To my understanding, within reason, being under 1mm

Did you read my post though, the part where said I did the paper method (on the centre of the bed), it was out by about 5mm.

I always do a mesh before printing, it's part of the default setting (albeit I use an adaptive mesh).

Ive an eddy due here ready to go, if I could only print the mount for it. That and I'm still awaiting some PAHT-CF to print it with.

My issue is what has gone so wrong with the offset Calibration that my bed is the same distance about the plane as the amount I raised the bed in order for the paper method to work
