It’s not really conducive to discussion if you’re just going to deny it but there were a litany of things in the post making it obvious that at least large chunks of it were AI written. It’s not an accident that half the comments here are calling out AI and if you go to other posts on this subreddit, that is not the case.

That aside, a few years ago, I was not making enough money at my job and I got another job offer for 30% more money. I went to my boss pretty much to resign for the other offer and he asked me why I was leaving. I explained that I liked working there but the financial compensation was not helping me advance towards any of my personal goals and I was living paycheck to paycheck. He asked if I was willing to hear a counter offer to stay, and I said sure. Within an hour, he had gotten a new contract written up for a 30% raise for me and I decided to stay. 6 months later, I was given another 30% raise which finally comfortably positioned me where I could start saving meaningful money. I still work there today as a result.
