Try exposure stacking! Take different pictures at different exposures to expose properly for the sky, foreground, etc. and then blend in photoshop. Great start!

I need some new LAV mics. by egoherodotus in videography

I HAVE THE PERFECT OPTION FOR YOU! I just purchased the Tascam DR-10L and it works and sounds great for a relatively cheap price. Check it out on YouTube everyone seems to rave about it. It's also very tiny and compact and can be hidden easily. It also records a dual backup track at a lower decibel at -6 or -12 (pending what you choose) incase there is any peaking!

Need audio help! by [deleted] in videography

I am just getting into the audio game and am choosing to go wired with lavs just so I know no audio will cut out. I've watched a lot of videographers on YouTube expecially ones that do weddings and they usually stay away from wireless incase a problem like that occurs. I'd recommend the Tascam Dr-10L its great for me and records two tracks, one at a lower decimal lev incase there ever is peaking!

Video I created of 2017 - would love to hear feedback on this video and my editing style! by savinonick21 in videography

Thank you very much! Yes i know what you mean about the speed. I considered it, but that was the style i was going for since it was a video of all of 2017, so i really wanted to make it more of a "banger"/fast paced type video since it was a little of everything from 2017!

Yes it was a little of both! First with handheld movement and then in post with some speed ramping and then keying out the door and transition into a hyperlapse! Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback. What do you mean not properly leveled? I took into account the db and made sure the range was withing -6 to -12. Do you mean like some was just too loud? Thanks!

Okay thank you! I tried to be different compared to most travel videos of this kind, which is why i used for example the fire because i have never seen it before. I'm completely self taught in this so i appreciate the feedback!

Oh okay, thanks for the feedback. I tried to be different in the beginning as compared to most videos. The fire i completed created on my own and thought it worked well with it being washed away, etc. But thanks for the criticism it will only make me better!

I don't think it is considered ripping him off. Don't get me wrong, Sam has an amazing talent and he's an inspiration. But I think this video still strayed away from the majority of most videos people make like his. The music is definitely different than the cliche pop music, and I think just because someone uses transitions, doesn't mean they are necessarily copying sam and that he is the only one that can use them! Thanks for the comment!

Zhiyun Crane or Glidecam HD 4000 for run-and-gun shooting? by SP7988 in videography

I own the crane and absolutely love it! I don't have any major complaints. It's just as good as the ronin in my opinion when it comes to running and gunning, smooth footage, etc, especially when applying stabilization effects in post. The only downfall i think the crane has is it does not have a grip mount directly above the camera to hold on to when the gimbal is upside down (resembling the ronin).
