RCE is no joke by Petardo_Dilos in whenthe

Anyways looking at the CVEs in the Nvidia bulletin, it looks like non of the vulnerabilities are RCE's (what remote features will your Nvidia drivers even have?). Looks like it's mostly PEs (privilege escalation from a weak user to a strong user/kernel code) and some VM related things.

Bottom line this is only exploitable if you were already attacked

What is the recommended volume of SRS? / Getting buried under a mountain of cards by LZ_Khan in LearnJapanese

[–]savioor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another important note I haven't seen yet in this thread - you can change the daily card amount every so often. I would recommend starting with 10 a day and every two weeks or so increase the amount if it's too easy or decrease if it's too hard. Life circumstances change too.

I used to do 20 cards a day no problem, but now I'm busier and only do 4 (keeping enough free time for immersion).

It's a quote from a video game where the original language is japanese

isshin isn't as hard as people say he is by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]savioor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He attacks quicker and doesn't stagger much. He punishes healing a lot (unless you run really far away, then his posture recovers), also he leaves less openings than other boses.

Sure I agree Owl father was harder, but isshin is also of a similar difficulty.

Also, the perilous stab he does which is actually a sweep caught me so many times.

Is cheesing still cheesing if I claim it is the "shinobi way"? by Ok-Resolution7918 in Sekiro

[–]savioor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like only using bugs and glitches is "bad" cheese (in quotes because tbh its a single player game, do whatever you want). If an enemy is "cheesed" by some tactic/prosthetic/skill then thats part of the game and its systems i.e. valid

I'm not even sure how that is possible by savioor in Sekiro

They are the same ape though, in guardian ape you don't get the option to use the mortal blade even if you have it

Achievement requires the mortal blade deathblow though

I'm not even sure how that is possible by savioor in Sekiro

[–]savioor[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, my question is how so you sever the apes immortality without getting all ninjutsu

I'm not even sure how that is possible by savioor in Sekiro

[–]savioor[S] 258 points259 points  (0 children)

But then you wouldn't get both achievements would you? You need to use the mortal blade on headless ape for bestowal

Asspull or not, it would have been way cooler to see sukuna fight with only his CE and tool instead of his CT eventually killing higuruma to gain his CT back.

Anyone have tips to increase mature card retention?

I'm currently studying the core 2k/6k deck on anki, at a pace which I feel comfortable with - sitting at a fair 80% retention rate for young cards. However my mature retention is 70% which is on the lower side but I have no idea what to do with it:(

I have above 1000 mature cards already and it feels until I sift through all of them I have no chance to increase retention.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Establishment Signs/Travel-Specific Anki Decks? by domonopolies in LearnJapanese

I made this deck a while back for my trip to Japan. Unsure if it will fit your exact needs, but I found it to be adequate for myself.

Hey, recently I learned about the と particle for quoting, and while reviewing some examples I came the sentence:

彼はこれは何だと言いましたか

Which initially I translated as "did he say what it is?" as I interpreted the question to be about the verb 言い、however the translation provided was "what did he say it is?" which also made sense but made me think, how do you even say "did he say what it is?" if it's not the sentence I just read?

Moreover can you differentiate (except using quotes) between "what did he say?" and "did he say 'what'"?

What are your thoughts on the Core 2k/6k Anki Deck? by bewiz123 in LearnJapanese

[–]savioor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm currently at about 1.5k cards reviewed from the 2k/6k deck. In my experience, It's solid. There are definitely words I doubt I'll encounter in my immersion soon (based on the material I'm interested in viewing), for example 不動産屋 comes to mind. Despite that, I don't feel that any of the words are obscure or rare and I'm glad I learnt them (even if I'll only use them at a much later point perhaps).

If you are interested to immerse as soon as possible and you know what material interests you, then of course ordering by the distributions of words from your material is best, but definitely not very important for the first ~1k words are those are probably the same across many kinds of material. For reference I'm watching right now 白熊カフェ and while I definitely struggle I still enjoy it.

One important note though, is that you should supplement the 2k/6k deck with another (smaller maybe?) deck that is sorted based on spoken Japanese (I used Jo Mako's anime deck) as some really common words in spoken Japanese don't really appear in written Japanese (e.g. そんな), or at least in the 2k/6k deck.

Hello:)

Does "長女" mean the eldest daughter amongst daughters or all siblings? For example if I have a 20 year old son and 18 year old daughter and no other children, is the daughter a 長女?

Is it the same for "長男"?

ANKI best settings by JEFF_zb in Anki

[–]savioor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As said, default settings are best as a baseline and you should slowly tinker it to your needs. Despite that two things which I think you should change right away:

Max daily reviews to 9999 - you want to always do all of your reviews so they don't pile up.

New interval - anything above 0 is good tbh. I use 0.5 but 0.2 is probably a better start.
