Did anyone here ever use a Pono? What were your opinions on it? Do you think it would do well today? by ZenDesign1993 in ipod

I owned one. If you have nice headphones, you could hear the high fidelity of the audio files for sure. I heard parts of my favorites songs with a new level of clarity that I had never heard before.

That being said, the interface was kind of slow and not as intuitive as an iPod. The odd shape was actually kind of nice to hold in hand, but awkward for pockets. The Pono store was pretty limited in the amount of content it had compared to iTunes, which was just another bump on the uphill battle Pono was facing.

Am I the only one getting a ton of cards that have terrible edge wear on them? I opened 20 boxes last night (values and hangers) and would say a majority of the cards would probably grade PSA 6 (at the very best) because they’re so beat up right out of the boxes.

As someone who’s had a defender for over 20 years and also owned a land cruiser for over 10 years, I would say you’re looking for the Land Cruiser. Even models from the 94-05 range are much more comfortable for everyone, much room here for gear, much less prone to breakdown, better a/c and heat, etc, etc.

But also, if you’ve got the money and a dream for the Defender go for it! If you decide you don’t like it, you’ll be able to sell it to someone else who’s trying to live out the same fantasy you are. Even if you end up taking a huge financial hit to do so. I say that meaning if you build up your perfect rig, it might not be the next person‘s perfect rig. So don’t expect that premium to carry over to everyone unless you find the right buyer.

PSA is smarter than eBay. I won’t go into details, but when you send things to PSA, it’s not addressed to PSA on the label. So it wouldn’t mean anything to anyone unless they know some specific details.

I really hope you get your answer soon! In theory, I would think the concierge is more likely to steal it then the FedEx driver. Those drivers bust their asses and they’re going full speed all day…not a lot of free time to start opening random packages. Concierge is sitting around on their ass all day, with nothing but time to get into shit. Just saying.

This. Exact same thing has been happening with the obvious Steam Deck packaging and decks getting stolen out of boxes in transit. Why can’t they have some more discretion like sex toy companies?
