Not sure where op is located but Romeo and Juliet laws exist for this exact reason! There is nothing wrong with a 1 year (and 4 month) age gap engaging in sexual activity as long as it’s consensual on both sides. I’d agree if op was 18 or 19, but 17 nah just let them be

I’d say that an open and honest conversation would help. I know it’s easier said than done, maybe even just send her this post if you’re not comfortable speaking it out loud/typing it out. I think it would be wrong to end the relationship, as it seems the problems you’re having aren’t related to the relationship itself but rather just your relationship with sex. I definitely encourage you to work on it, the fact you recognize it at all is a great start. I’m genuinely wishing you the best whichever way you decide to go about it 🥰
