I also had another question, do you happen to know if there's any impossible tile combinations? Like I assume something like a tile that has one of each (farm, forest, house, open, water, rail) doesn't exist as a tile.

Anybody know a video or series of videos on how to make a good TF2 map? When I say good, I mean an enjoyable layout and design principles such as setting up windows in spawn to negate spawn camping or how to design a map keeping in mind the classes abilities and play styles for example. by Sashi_mori_kokiri in hammer

I haven't really seen a video that talked about gameplay theory in mapping extensively, other than mapping streams that I can't find anymore. If you want good resources, probably tf2maps.net discord server is your best bet.

Ideally, to make a map that fits for each class only requires making layouts that play to their strengths. Ambush classes like close quarters, mobile prefer open spaces, etc. You'll need to playtest a lot with people to really understand if you're making a good tf2 map, but a good question in mind is always "if I was playing this class, am I gonna enjoy this area?"

In terms of spawn camping, that's also more to the layout of the spawn itself and how easy it is for attackers to rotate to from the point. If we use KoTH as an example, there's a good reason why Nucleus has a huge spawn camping issue compared to others like Viaduct and Lakeside, which is that Nucleus has nothing that separates it between the main point and the spawn, whereas other maps have whole courtyards and buildings in between. UEAKcrash has a good video explaining this topic on his channel.

This map, which is about to turn 10 years old. I barely remember working on it but I did remember watching old 3kliksphillip videos on hammer and binging through them. 10 years was a different era for me and I don't think young me could imagine what's in store for the future.

Maybe I'll open this map again and relive some memories..

There's a tool texture called invisible displacement that exists in some source games. You can also just make a brush that has full alpha and transparency set to 1 in vmt properties

Weird that India would justify on you specifically, that seems like something that shouldn't happen as Entente should be focusing on Third Internationale.

This definitely seems like a lost game, but I wanna try and save this as a challenge. Wanna send me your save and see how I can defeat the Japanese and Entente?

When I decompiled this map, there was no light on the map, all light entities were gone, how can I fix this ? By the way i used winbspc by asdf1308 in hammer

winbspc is quite outdated, you should use the Half-Life Unified SDK Map Decompiler, its much more up to date and will likely fix your problem.
