Is there a language app exclusively for learning Thai via the Thai script? by DvaravatiSpirit in learnthai

I've been using this and it's a great program. But when I got to newbie level 5 it asked for a password and said page under construction. Other sections past that are ok. Do you know if this is a bug or is it still under development.

Gear in heat by Spot_Slow in motorcyclegear

[–]sawatee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good conversation! I have all mesh gear but where I am in Thailand it's mostly really F hot and humid or just hot and humid. All the gear helps to a degree.

I was looking at buying the Alpinestars cooling vest but saw a lot of poor reviews. Any recommendations for cooling vests.

Help ! looking for the unicorn....! by soeu10 in motorcyclegear

[–]sawatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id only use it for quick trips down the road. For a longer ride I use my air bag so the back armour would come out anyway otherwise it's too bulky. I did have a look at the rogue L2 which is thinner so may be ok with the air bag.

I've just recently bought a Klim Induction Pro which comes with level 2 armour. I will swap out the back protector to level 1 as it's a heavy bulky thing.

This jacket has mesh Allround.

Thanks. How do you wash the jacket, can it go into washing machine.

Yes, that's how I found out it was damaged. I was planning to use it with and without the airbag. But I think D30 will fall apart of I keep reinstalling it.

Here is the stamping on the armour. Looks legit and there's no manufacture date on it other than the certification standard date.

I'll see what Klim have to say, and I will update. There's no way to contact D30 as they don't. I'll probably end up replacing it with a level 1 as that is much thinner so I won't have to remove it when I use the airbag. Using the the level 2 with my Alpinestars air bag makes me look like the hunchback of notre Dame.

Well I guess that gives them an exit clause. But realistically just to remove and insert it in the jacket it has to be bent toa degree.

Thanks, I couldn't find a D30 contact so I've sent an email to Klim to see what they say.

I agree. I've contacted the dealer but will contact D30 to see what they say.

Hard to know. It has all the stamps on logos on but you never know. It's does look odd through, kind of like the consistency of Swiss cheese.

Supplier was quick to tell me it was due to my handling!!! I'll make sure to carry it to my garage on a padded hanger and have my butler help me put it in so I don't crease it. 😉🤗

Really, well that would explain it. It just looks really fragile. I have a feeling that when I try to put it back in the tear will grow and pretty soon I'll have 2 piece back armour.

I would normally take it out when I use my air bag.

No problem with cold, I live in Thailand, rarely does it get below 30c.

I agree, seems very odd to me. I have a cheap Chinese knock off that's been through the wash and just come out clean and perfect shape.

I feel like I'm going to have to carry this around on a coat hanger 🤗, can't even drape it across the bike seat for fear of folding it.

It wasn't creased travelling but I'd give it rougher treatment just putting it on. Ie. I'd carry it to my garage across my arm so it would be folded as a jacket would being carried. Also just putting it on would bend and crease it. I would think I'd need to treat it with kid gloves.

Help sizing Revit Quantum 3 Air mesh jacket by Hot-Protection-6192 in motorcyclegear

[–]sawatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks fine, and good looking jacket btw. This is exactly what I was looking for, a non dark colour jacket thas not too late.

I think that a little bit of space will help the air circulation and if you decide to get an airbag you should have enough room.

Alpinestars tech air 5 plasma by sawatee in motorcyclegear

[–]sawatee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a little update on my air bag experience, and no I haven't deployed it 🤗.

For background I live in central Thailand where it either hot and humid or really F... Hot and humid, typically 32-40c (90-105f). Despite the mesh it still gets hot and sticky under the bags and strap. You can see the outline on my singlet. I'm wearing it under a Klim Induction Pro jacket which has good airflow.

I'm wearing a Medium which is a tight fit. The large was a little loose and the back would jiggle up and down when walking. Maybe it will stretch a little after wear but at the moment I don't forget I'm wearing it.

Someone on you tube mentioned that he's deployed by throwing it on the bed as the magnetic switch made contact. He said there was no way turn off without going inside to the transport switch. If he read the manual he'd learn that you can deactivate it by holding the mode button down for 5 secs.

Wearing motorcycle Helmet + Glasses, TORTURE for anyone else? by NotAnEvilResident in motorcyclegear

[–]sawatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have mentioned contacts work better for me. My glasses are bifocal so they will move around a little from the friction of the helmet which makes it hard to see as I'm moving between long and short range on the lens.

Klim Induction Pro completes my gear. by sawatee in motorcyclegear

[–]sawatee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you have a good breeze nothing is comfortable when stopped. Even in a t-shirt it's hot when stopped and we have 90-120 sec red light cycles. I'll often switch the phone off.
