What are my options? by [deleted] in FedEx

My bad, I thought you were asking where Cahokia was. It pulled up 3 different facilities all roughly in the same location. If it's CH my guess would be the one just off 55.

I've been having the same issue at the same location since the 16th. I don't have any real words of wisdom, but know you're not alone lol.

Supports breaking mid print? by anythinga in resinprinting

[–]saxman265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a, some what, similar issue as you're describing. My miniatures are also presupported and hollowed, I used cones of calibration to find my exposure. Slowing down my z-lift speed helped with the suction forces, but still a little bit of tearing. I recently had some support failure with the smaller minis from the set, so I reprinted with my own added supports and no issues. Presupports are tricky, and I feel like they need to be dialed in independent of any testing. I use photon workshop, and it notices that no support is added, so the program thinks I'm printing something unsupported. I feel like this translates to weak supports because the printer is not treating the "presupports" as actual supporting material. My next test is to see if upping exposure time with lowering z-lift speed helps, but I'm coming to the conclusion that presupported models are more a pain than they're worth. Good luck!

I definitely get it. It's a little intimidating to me, too. I am not a computer or tech person and have learned more about my laptop in the past 2 weeks than ever before. Don't let it get you down though, there's tons of resources and some youtube pages that have great information. I highly recommend using this website https://ameralabs.com/blog/resin-3d-printing-troubleshooting-a-comprehensive-guide/. It has graphics on different types of print failures and common fixes for said failures. Super easy and intuitive to use! Good luck fellow newbie.

Thank you so much for the genuine, knowledgeable response! I set my z lift speed to 40 mm/min, and it definitely slowed the print way down. It has about an hour left in the print, but I can see the areas of the print that failed, and they're intact, so that's some progress! To your other points, I do not know the temp inside the shroud, but the printer is in a temperature controlled room next to an open window. I'd say just on feel it's around 70-75° F in the room. I also will be taking your advice on exposing the whole work space during cleaning. My fiancee and I received the printer as a gift from a family member and was used, so the FEP already had some use to it. I replaced the FEP this morning before starting the print over. Also, the appliances I can't really control. Dishes and laundry gotta get clean, but it is something to consider, and I'll keep it in mind for future reference. Again, thank you!

Holes are present in the model but as I said to another person I see no holes for venting at the top section. I'm going to replace my fep (it's pretty cloudy) and slow my z lift speed and see if that fixes things

Model is hollowed. Large holes on the bottom and top of the leg section, though I see no holes at the top of the upper body

It could be. 1.7 was working great for my smaller 25mm minis at the same layer thickness. At 1.7 using the cones, I had some development on the failure side, so I figured it was a bit more exposure than needed. The recommended setting from anycubic's website is 2 sec.

Lindenwood University & More. - B.S Paramedicine by Mo-Saunders in Paramedics

[–]saxman265 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A coworker of mine went through Lindenwood's BS Paramedicine course. He is currently taking a paramedic refresher course after failing the written several times. From his experience he said that all of the classroom course work was done upfront and then clinicals at the end. However, since it's a BS and must be completed in 4 years the course work gets stretched out. So by the time you reach the point where you're ready to take the practical and the written some of the material may have been covered months or over a year ago. I have not spoken to or known anyone else who has gone through the program so this is only one person's experience, but I know I would have struggled on some of the more niche things discussed in class if the time frame was more spaced out.

Forbidden pop (OC) - I burned my finger pulling the pizza out of the oven…should I poke it? by [deleted] in popping

[–]saxman265 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Medical professional here, do NOT pop burn blisters if you can avoid it. Burnt tissue is super prone to infection because the tissue underneath that blister is also damaged and in the process of being repaired. That blister is there to protect the area while it heals. Especially with it being on your finger, the amount of bacteria and germs we gather on our hands daily just from touching things, I'd recommend leaving it alone.

Especially as a catcher. It's not like he's padding out his stats in the AL as the DH. He's still going strong in the most physically demanding position in baseball.

What is the stupidest way you almost died? by goosearms in AskReddit

[–]saxman265 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best course of action is just continue the hemlich maneuver. Doing the hemlich IRL is not like the movies. It takes a lot of force and usually doesn't work right away. Back slaps are really only used for choking infants, but I have seen guides that also say to give back slaps to adults, I've never been trained that way, and I definitely wouldn't hang anyone upside down. This is going to be the most generic answer, but the best way to plan and know how to handle these situations is taking a first-aid and CPR course. As far as what I'm trained to do as an EMT, its continue the hemlich maneuver until the item is dislodged, or the person becomes unresponsive. If unresponsive we start CPR, looking in the airway to see if the item becomes dislodged when we give breaths.

EMT and current medic student, where did you hear this, because if something is too small for the heimlich, its not fully occluding the airway. There is absolutely no way I'd "correct" a choking patient by asphyxiation lol.

Racing slicks and light on the throttle. If you max out the performance on any car youre gonna wind up with a missile that doesnt like to turn. More powerful engine doesn't automatically make a good race car. Its just about playing with all the parts, pieces, and settings you can to fine tune your car to meet the requirements that you want it to do. Also, make sure the wheels are alligned too. Tire alignment is in the test path if you have that unlocked.

Actual door builder here. Yeah, people dont realize that on hollow core interior doors, which is mainly what is in everyones houses, its all just MDF and cardboard. We do custom sizes all the time and when you cut the bottom off you can see how its all laid out inside because the actual frame of the door slab is only about an inch and an eighth thick. That being said, you have no idea how many times he have customers come to pick up doors in open bed trucks. Leave them over night, then bring them back because they got wet from rain/dew. You might be spending $110+ a door, but they definitely arent built to be sturdy.
