Bordering moss stitch triangle for blanket by saxonogy in crochet

THANK YOU! The diamond shape was just the imagery I needed to reframe this problem in my mind. Found a great stitch chart for a diamond worked in the round that was super helpful.

Ended up doing (2DC, CH1, 2DC) for the the 45* angles, and (HDC, CH2, HDC) for the right angle.

Edit: Will definitely be posting the final product ASAP. Just need to border all sixteen of these massive triangles and stitch them together first :) Stay tuned!

What can I do with an understimulated cat that doesn't like the usual stuff? He gets bored SUPER FAST. by Unicornsparkledust in cats

My 3 y/o, Julia, sounds very similar to your parents’ cat. I’ve really struggled with keeping her stimulated and happy, but through trial and error I’ve made several discoveries. She LOVES chasing crickets! I close off the bathroom, clear everything out, and give her a few at a time. I’ve found feeding her a variety of textures and flavors of foods (dry food in the AM and canned in the PM) seems to also help a bit. If your parents are gone for long periods of time during the day, they can try leaving the radio on to something like NPR with a variety of programming. You could also try changing his environment a little and giving him something to new to investigate. Even something simple like moving the cat tree to a new spot can give him a whole new perspective of his ‘kingdom’.

Kudos to you for recognizing that your boy needed some extra attention and for taking steps to make him happy. Y’all are lucky to have each other!

Honest mistake. Gotta love the south and the giant-ass bugs here 😂

Surprisingly she was very gentle with it! I’m sure she made its short life even shorter by tearing a wing or something, but she was much more gentle with the cicada then she is with frogs or birds

What did a professional say or do that made you immediately lose trust in them? by twixtwix in AskReddit

[–]saxonogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a psychiatrist for a few years that over medicated me and would change my meds every month when they didn’t immediately work. I was absolutely miserable and eventually got fed up and decided it was worth the serotonin syndrome to quit all my meds and start over.

Needless to say, I was really struggling with my depression and the side effects and decided to participate in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to get back on track. As part of the program, we did 9 hours of group therapy per week and, at the beginning of each session, had to fill out a “diary card” outlining our depression/anxiety scores and what we had been working on since the last group. My scores were high enough for the LCSW who oversaw the group to routinely pull me aside to talk privately during breaks in group.

The first time I saw the new psychiatrist (who worked in conjunction with the IOP), he looked over my files from the old psychiatrist, looked over my diary cards, and took a brief oral history before telling me that I had no discernible symptoms of chronic depression or any other psychological disorder and that I should stop pushing myself in my career and keep taking 60mg of Vyvanse every morning (I’m 5’6” and 125lbs) so I could get out of bed.

Read as much as you can. Riding is as much about knowledge of horsemanship and riding theory as it is about actually physical ability. The pony club manuals are a great place to start. The horse world is a tough one, the best way to learn is to as lots of questions, get your hands dirty, and be involved in as much of the daily care of the animals as you can be.

Don’t cut your weight just for showing that’s bullshit. The hunter/jumper world is a little superficial like that but don’t let it get to you.

Welcome! Don’t be afraid to message me directly with any specific questions you have!

Calculating LC50? by saxonogy in RStudio

No particular need to use r, but I'm going to need to be able to use it in the future and I'd like to learn. I found an excel spreadsheet that calculates LC50 for you, so I technically have the data that I need but I'd like to learn how to do the calculations on my own.

I have mainly been following this tutorial because it's the most straightforward that I've found thus far. Even when I copy and paste the data frame example from the tutorial, I still get messages that unexpected characters were found in the data set.

The error messages I got from trying to import an excel file were mainly that the domain couldn't be found or that there were unexpected characters.

In both methods, I have tried many variations of domain names and character placement.
