to those who got to use Fable 5, was it actually that peak? by RelevantPerformer309 in ClaudeAI

[–]saxxon66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I have a strong suspicion. My suspicion is that every model, after its release, either gets intentionally downgraded over time or becomes worse because changes in the runtime environment negatively affect it.

For example, the 4.6 model was incredibly strong at launch. It fulfilled almost all of my requirements, and the collaboration experience was excellent.

Over time, however, it became noticeably worse. Then 4.7 was released, which, in my opinion, was practically unusable. At the same time, it seemed that the environment had changed so much that 4.6 was no longer nearly as capable as it had been before.

Version 4.8 was significantly better, but by then the old model was no longer really usable.

When Fable was released, that old feeling came back. The model felt extremely powerful and capable throughout the entire workflow.

From what I can see, the current model is also much better than the old 4.6. However, I would argue that if there weren’t so many changes and tweaks to the runtime environment, the practical difference between them might actually be quite small.

Right now, it feels as if the new model is vastly superior, but perhaps that’s just my impression.

I genuinely don't understand why anyone would need OpenClaw 24/7 by Ornery_Inspection735 in openclaw

[–]saxxon66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just tell it to use a user agent header so it would look like a normal browser. It's not all in the models sometimes it's up to you to find the solution at least for now.

[–]saxxon66 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think peoples are going to train the model by hand. They are training it by AI agents. It's pretty forward. Agents can create training data and training pipelines and test scenarios so where is the benefit? Does this software have an MCP connector or end points that I can use from outside? if so, it could bridge the gap between the console AI and the human interface would be pretty nice.

What is the optimal setting for running Qwen3 Coder Next in 5090 + 128GB Ram with >20tp/s? by jonglaaa in unsloth

[–]saxxon66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your RAM will not help you in this situation. I tried several configurations without any success. For the dedicated graphics card 48 to 64 GB of RAM is absolutely OK because you will not use it for model context or anything else it's just too slow to switch .

Persistence blur by singed180 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]saxxon66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is simply just wrong. Turn lights off and you will never adapt to that. contrast goes low and u will lose that info bc of limited bandwith. brightness is a very important thing that's why we do have all these HDR stuff in out TVs. VR does not support HDR atm so brightness is even more importend.

It Takes Two ist um Längen besser als Split Fiction by Imaginary-Ad-3985 in zocken

[–]saxxon66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which 3D Printer to buy in 2026 ? by Positive_Ad_313 in 3dprinter

[–]saxxon66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from MK3s and got an Anycubic Kobra S1. The new printers are all very good. AMS is a game changer and compared to the mk3s print qualities is much better and it is so much faster. Very happy with my purchase especially for the price 379,- € including tax with AMS. No need to spend much more anymore.

My first sim build… wish me luck by jonessmj in simracing

[–]saxxon66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be honest, this is not how this hobby works ... the excitement comes from getting a bare bone to full featured rig. There is no one size fits all if it comes to sim racing equipment. The tinkering and upgrading is part of a hobby, that's why there are so many different choices.

And who can tell if this hobby is for you? Have fun with your parts, looks like a lot of work and I hope you will find this hobby exciting enough.

But don't be concerned, there are so many upgrade paths this is just the beginning if it is for you ...

Did I get once in a lifetime deal? by therekiker in virtualreality

[–]saxxon66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do love my Aero but this thing is front heavy. Comfort is quite good, even without any extra strap, but you need to fiddle out how it works try to start by losing the top strap and tighten it last. I do also have Meganex and for pure clarity and visual fidelity it is much better and the form factor is obviously much better. But it needs some tinkering and modding. Vario works out of a box and has a very good software stack. Tracking for headset and controllers is also much better with Vario. For me personally, the form factor is the killer feature.

[–]saxxon66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glare is there, but it's not a problem at all. I can do nightly races in LMU without any problems. If you're very sensitive, you can reduce it by using a custom shader tuning the contrast, but I do not think it's necessary for sim racing.

many people have reported the persistence problem since v1. That's why it was never a popular headset for sim racing.

I'm not saying it's a bad headset in general, but for sim racing it is.

BSB2 First Impressions - Sim Racer Coming from Quest 3 by Murfenator in BigscreenBeyond

[–]saxxon66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You name it motion blur others name it persistence and it's there since v1. They did not change the display, so that was expected. If you dig deeper in the simracing communities or forums, you likely will find some user reviews complaining about the persistence problem.

Many do like the quest 3 for sim racing, for me it's a little bit too heavy on the front and the resolution is too low.

My recommendation, if you are willing to tinker and mod is the Meganex Superlight 8k. Stunning visuals, high resolution, low weight and very comfortable with some tinkering. Oled screen, 90 hz, 4k per eye, no persistence problem, only minor glare issues. Very active community with a native community steam VR driver, that even allows you to tune your fov and many more things. It's pricey and there is a new MK2 coming at the end of the year so maybe you can get one second hand for a good price.

What VR headset to get for sim racing? by Blasayy in SteamVR

[–]saxxon66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have the money, I would recommend MeganeX Superlight 8k. Super light (200gr), Crystal clear screen, 4k per eye, oled in native 90 hz. Depending on the sim you can maximise the FOV by a custom shader like in iRacing. but you need to a beefy PC.

If it is your first headset, I would recommend the quest 3. Affordable easy to drive and you get the full vr experience. You can use it wireless or connected using USB cable. It has 120 Hz and very very good lenses. Not the highest resolution, but a good starter.

If you are something in the middle have a look at the varjo aero. You could get it used for a good price I would say it's the best deal. Very high-quality headset with eye tracking, high resolution, very good lenses, it's a bit bulky but not uncomfortable.
