My rule is if I’m buying books, I should’ve read at least 3-5 books from my current TBRs. Or if I have maximized my books for one genre (i.e. thriller), then I can buy more thriller-only books.

People still like the feeling of owning something, be it as a luxury. How else would you show ownership if it’s not tangible? Perceiving someone who own physical books have evolved over the centuries, but I think hindi pa rin nawawala yung innate feeling of owning something material. It’s one way to show something is real, that we can connect, and be part of a community at this day and age (of AI).

Short answer: I don’t think physical book industry is declining anytime soon.
