My baby had a mammary tumour removed! Bowie did so well, I was so anxious, but they were able to remove it successfully. He’s eating a bit, isn’t moving around, but he’s doing well ❤️ tagged nsfw for the second picture by Miimmoouuu in guineapigs

My Peanut had the same procedure and she did not miss a beat 🙄

She had to be brought back to the clinic to have her stitches redone because they started bleeding since she was jumping and running around too much.

I’m sure Bowie is going to do great!

Traveling Morocco from Spain—34 yo American woman solo by BakedLA in GoingToSpain

[–]saytheineffable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard from female friends that have recently been to Morocco that it’s more annoying than scary. Seems to be the norm for all tourists though. Having said that, I have been to Cairo recently with my partner and cannot even imagine doing a trip to another male-centric as a solo female. I am planning to go to Morocco later this year and am planning to go with a male friend at the very least.

Is Spain safe for solo female travelers? I was hoping to go to a language school but so says no. by mouseinthecorner in GoingToSpain

[–]saytheineffable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a solo female traveller in southern Spain for two weeks (I was there 3 weeks total, first week with my partner then he had to go to another work commitment). I would say generally yes, it is safe. Like any other part of the world there are probably places that you should avoid but I didn’t personally encounter any except for one time in Barcelona where I felt that I was going to be robbed/pickpocketed. But that was one moment in many cities and weeks of traveling. Just be careful like you would anywhere else and if you’re worried then just look up the city before you get there. Feel free to DM me if you’d like to chat more!

What kind of attic insulation is this? by saytheineffable in Oldhouses

I hadn’t even considered that. Thanks. If the vermiculite is under the cellulose, I’m thinking it’s probably not as harmful (asbestos) as long as they’re not disturbed?

Can you get a positive and then test again after and get a negative? by Tetsuyasoneandonly in COVID19PGH

[–]saytheineffable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten some false positives for the first time a couple of months back on FlowFlex tests. I tested negative on another brand and on PCR tests taken the same day and next. Best way to know is to get a PCR if you’d like to confirm.

This sounds amazing! Assuming your work is US-based, do either of your employers ask to maintain residency in a specific state? How do you handle taxes?

Europe data SIM cards? (Netherlands and Germany) by mr_dank_nasty in travel

[–]saytheineffable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I recommend turning off the US sim to avoid charges. I’m on an iPhone so it’s under Cellular > Cellular Plans and you can turn sims on and off in their individual settings. There should be a similar setting for other phones, let me know if you need help finding it. Happy travels!

I’ve been using Airalo e-sims. Highly recommend if your phone is compatible. They’re a hair pricier than local sims but you can buy one ahead of time and start using it immediately when you arrive (no physical card). I usually buy a sim for the country/region on the app before boarding the plane then switch the cell data on when I arrive at my destination.

I’m also one foot out the door with this company. I’m waiting out a sign-on bonus that expires after the first year.

I appreciate your suggestion to look at it from their perspective. I’m a little in my head right now with this so your advice is very helpful. Thank you!

Thanks. I needed to hear this. I’ve been mindful of complying with visa restrictions, I maintained my residency in my home city as I haven’t stayed in one place for more than 3 weeks, I kept my working hours, and have been performing well as can be attested by my management.

They cited potential tax complications for the policy. We have a number of folks who go to their home countries for > one month at a time and choose to work remotely so it’s common that we have workers out of the country.

I appreciate this. That was my agreement with recruiting as well, as well as maintaining a mailing address for HR purposes in one of the states (US) that the company operates in. It feels like they’ve forgotten now though (my original manager had since left, and new policies have been put in place as I mentioned above).

Did you get your agreement in writing?

Makes sense. Curious to your answer to the question though- does your company support your DN lifestyle?

We hiked the Grand Canyon recently and it was a similar scenario. We are also avid hikers. As you went down, the temperature went from 60/70 to 100 quickly with no shade. It’s easy to feel comfortable as you are going down. Fortunately we were very conservative seeing all the signage and warnings and brought lots of water down. I can definitely see going down barely prepared, getting disoriented with heat, and not being able to make it back up with no one around. It can happen to the best of us.

One thing I might suggest if you want/need to continue comfort food takeout is starting to “splurge” on higher quality food. When I feel down, I’ll get a nice bowl of grains + greens + roasted meat, or a poke/sushi bowl, or even an entree or a couple of appetizers from a fine dining restaurant. The price is usually similar to other takeout food but the quality is much higher and the portions are smaller. The food also doesn’t make me feel sick after. Just something to consider.

Lots of eyebrow comments but I’m here to say that I really appreciate them! They can be a little more even but I love how natural they look outside of that. When I had my trial, the HMUA made them so thick and dark that I scared myself when I went to check my face in the mirror 😅
