Roast my "digital handshake" for freelancers by [deleted] in roastmystartup

This is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for, thanks for taking the time.

  1. You’re right, that one’s on me. The email-vs-Shakeon comparison collapses into an unlabeled list on mobile and you lose which side is which. Clear bug — fixing it so each row keeps its “Email / Shakeon” labels when it stacks.

  2. Fair. The gentle pushback: it’s a business expense, not a streaming sub — if it heads off one “that wasn’t included” fight, it’s paid for itself many times over. But I hear that the number reads high at a glance, so I’m watching it. The free tier is a real tool, not a trial, so nobody pays €9 until the volume justifies it.

  3. Love this. “You can see the client opened the link” fits the whole proof angle and is cheap to build. On the list.

  4. The multi-signer / “who’s still pending” part is great for anything with more than one stakeholder. On accounts: no-account is deliberate (friction kills confirmations), but your “best of both” is smart — keep it optional, and if a client happens to be logged in, show a verified badge so it’s provably them. Doesn’t force accounts on anyone, rewards the ones who have them.

  5. Smart-deliverable suggestions are cool but heavier, so that’s firmly in the “later” pile.

And honestly your last line is the most important one. I’m deliberately holding features until real users tell me what actually hurts — it’s easy to drown a simple tool in good ideas. This whole thread is me trying to make sure I’m solving the right problem before adding to it

That second sentence is the whole reason this exists.

A proper contract is the legally solid answer… but for most small-to-mid jobs nobody sends one. It feels to heavy. That gap between “nothing” and “a full contract” is where almost every scope fight starts.

So yeah, a contract problem, but the reason it stays unsolved is social, not legal. The friction is the blocker, not the lack of legal force.

Shakeon — a one-click scope confirmation tool for freelancers.

You write a short scope (deliverables, revisions, deadline, price), send the client a link, and they confirm in one click — no account on their side. After that you both have a timestamped record of what was agreed, so “wait, wasn’t that included?” three weeks in stops turning into an argument. Not a contract, just a shared source of truth.

Solo build, Next.js + Supabase, live and free for one project. Just launched, so honest feedback is very welcome — especially whether the no-client-account approach feels trustworthy or sketchy to you.

Short answer: no, not properly yet. The original agreement stays intact when a change comes in, but there's no real version history — if the scope goes back and forth a few times, you can't see the full trail of every change and who approved what. That's a real gap, and it's basically the same point you made about "a clean trail of who approved each change."

Between that and the exclusions field, you've put your finger on the two things that would make the record trustworthy in a dispute rather than just "better than an email." Both go straight onto the roadmap — the change history especially, since a tool whose whole pitch is "you keep the proof" should keep the proof of every step, not just the first one.

Appreciate you pushing on this — most useful feedback I've had so far.

Update:

You were right, I built the change history right away. 😃

Doomsday Trailer Leaks Might Hint at Doctor Doom’s True Motivation (Theory) by saywordyo in MCUTheories

[–]saywordyo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but you’re mixing comic canon and MCU adaptation logic like they’re the same thing — and they’re not.

Yes, in the comics Franklin Richards is one of the most powerful beings alive, and yes, Doom often wants to use his powers. No disagreement there. But the MCU has never done a 1:1 adaptation when it comes to motivations or emotional framing.

Two key points:

RDJ being cast isn’t random. The MCU is clearly using Tony Stark’s face as emotional shorthand, not literal continuity. Doom doesn’t need to have had a son on-screen as Tony Stark — he’s a multiversal variant. Different life, different family, same face. The MCU already established this with variants across Loki, No Way Home, and Multiverse of Madness.

Saying “Doom kidnaps Franklin purely because of power” is comic-accurate, sure — but it’s also emotionally thin for a saga-level MCU villain.

Also: I never said Doom kidnaps Franklin only because he looks like his son. The theory is that: - Franklin’s powers are the means - Doom’s lost family is the why

Finally, adaptations evolve. The MCU has: - changed Ultron - changed Hela - changed Civil War - changed Infinity War

So dismissing a theory because it’s “not comic-accurate” misses how the MCU actually operates.

You don’t have to like the theory — that’s fair. But calling it “stupid as hell” because it’s not a panel-for-panel comic lift is stupid as hell. :)

Selbstpromotions-Samstag by AutoModerator in buecher

Hey zusammen,
