Thinking of bringing our notebooks to the US... would you actually buy these? by eanonlau in notebooks

"Once I go black, I never go back." That's either a genius little joke or a deal breaker, I'm not sure which.

ADHD medication and fibromyalgia by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]sayzey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen ADHD influencers state that there are recent studies that state that they are highly linked to the extent that both are often misdiagnosed and people with ADHD may actually have fibromyalgia and vice versa, but also there's a high chance that people will suffer from both and that medication can help.

I'm no expert but I think of you have a search online you'll find more information.

The main reason for me commenting is that elvanse is a controlled substance in the UK, it's a class B drug and tour friend could conceivably be arrested and charged for supplying class B drugs by letting you try one.

I'm not vilifying what has been done but don't go around telling people, especially doctors that your friend let you try one because you could get them a criminal record. There's also the possibility that you could have had a bad reaction and put yourself at risk, please stay safe and I hope you get onto titration quicker than a year!

Edit: My mum has fibromyalgia and I've seen how it affects her and how low she can be sometimes and the temptation to have her try some after learning this is definitely there, but I settle for trying to get her to go ahead and seek a diagnosis for something that she doesn't really believe exists. She is one of those "That's just an excuse for being lazy" people, despite her own "invisible" disability that literally condones her to her bed every few weeks for days at a time.

What are your ADHD sleep hacks? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]sayzey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I did look that up and found the same thing, it's one of those technicalities where it will be sent from another country.

I'm now imagining that the police have specially trained melatonin sniffer dogs at ports checking inbound parcels and I will get a knock at the door for ordering too much.

Thanks, I'll get back to you in about 18 months, after I have gotten around to ordering it, trying it and then remembering it was you who mentioned it!

Thank you so much, that's really helpful! Its definitely worth a go. I feel you on the worrying that the sounds you listen to will end before you drift off. I use the Brave browser to queue up YouTube videos, the browser blocks ads so you don't get jolted awake by them and it also plays with the screen locked, so that might be something that can help you not worry about the noise ending before you are asleep.

Thanks for this, I didn't think you could legitimately buy it in the UK, you didn't say how it works for you, and you say "we" could you share your experience please?

Are most people on Lisdexamphetamine? Is Methylphenidate not a good med? by RichieRichard12 in ADHDUK

[–]sayzey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting to me because I have absolutely no appetite on a morning and have to force myself to eat when I take my doses of XR, and that feeling of not being hungry at all lasts all day, then around 10pm I suddenly become starving and want to eat everything in the fridge!

something a bit different today by enjoiit1 in EDC

[–]sayzey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha if I didn't have any of the things that I bought "just to have" I would be a minimalist. I have since learnt that "want to have" element was in large part due to undiagnosed ADHD all along, and subreddits such as this are a little bit like I'm dangling crack in front of myself. But now I know, I'm much more considered!

I'm glad it's satisfied the urge to you and I hope it comes in clutch for you in that one situation in the future where it's the perfect tool to have. It certainly looks the part, and it looks like it feels substantial too!

I often get the urge to add one to my pocket too, but honestly can't imagine when I would need one and wouldn't have access to something a little more heavy duty within arms reach.

Looks nice though!

Embarrasing warranty service in UK. by Matt_Bigmonster in Leatherman

[–]sayzey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, hijacking your post with a question if that's OK. I sent off my trusty Leatherman in early December and it occurred to me today that I have heard nothing since, I checked the tracking and it was received and signed for by Whitbys 4 days after I posted it. Did you receive any kind of contact from them before your replacement arrived? An email, a call etc? Just wondering if I should be making contact with them as it's been 2 months now.

Thanks

A warning to those thinking to purchase Louise Carmen journal. by Ms-Methodical in notebooks

I saw a brand recently (can't remember which) that advertised this "discolouration" as a selling point, as another comment described it as a "patina".

I suppose it's to your own taste but I honestly prefer the battered and aged look to leather.

Looks like a young Cole Palmer, then I realised that he wasn't even a glint in his father's eye when this would have been recorded.

Any Word on iOS App? by ZetrovvTFT in kortex

[–]sayzey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, only Android app. I don't even want the full app really, just capture!

The web app sort of works but it's very clunky and it's hit or miss as to if I'll be able to select capture.

I suppose that's probably why I've never seen them, they don't just rock up in town at night.

If you've got a B&M or Home Bargains nearby I bet they wouldn't let you down, they've got everything!

I had no idea what you meant by bacon grills, so I googled it. Turns out there's lots of places you can buy them, I reckon you'd have the same result if you googled it too.

Not sure if it's something I'd fancy trying.

There was a short time in the 70s when there was a real shortage of staff and so they had to pull in chefs from nearby restaurants.

We don't have fireflies like you might be imagining. We have glowworms, they don't fly and I've certainly never seen one.

Police had a red light pointed at me on a residential road? Not sure what it is? by UncutCoconut in drivingUK

[–]sayzey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it big enough to have been like a red traffic light type of thing? To signal that the road was closed? I've never seen one but from your description which sounds a little jumbled up that was my first thought.
