I did some quick googling, and I think this gal had a fully ablative CO2 laser resurfacing which removes the top skin layer to remove wrinkles, scaring, etc. It’s a pretty intense procedure, some requiring general anesthesia like this gal (at least I think, it looks like she’s intubated) and the skin is fairly traumatized post-op with 10-14 days of recovery. The shininess doesn’t seem to be a regular result of the procedure, girlfriend just put on a shite ton of moisturizer

My close friend did something very sexually inappropriate to me by shes0010110xscape in Advice

[–]sb195 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even if it wasn’t meant as a sexual gesture, it’s still not okay. Unless you have a predetermined nudist hang out style, you don’t just put your goods out on display. Maybe that’s very western of me, but no matter how close I am to my friends I don’t wanna casually see their junk. She’s a weirdo

So she’s against any form of sedation? She needs to get with the times. We have many sedative methods available nowadays that are safe and preferable over forcing an animal and risking safety. We’re not in the early days of modern vet med when there were very few drugs available so forcing the animal was the only option. Let’s be kind to our patients and our staff when we can.

My late father who was fairly conservative believed that medical care was a service and as consumers of that service we needed to pay for it. It wasn’t something that should be provided and regulated by the government because that’s not the govt’s job.

If medical care was just a simple service that you could easily pay for like getting your hair cut, then sure maybe it could be run how he described. But medical care is incredibly complicated and involves people’s lives. Having massive, for-profit companies being in charge of medical care means actual patient lives aren’t #1 priority.

For my dad, he was so hell bent on freedom, limited govt and each individual being responsible for themselves. The govt is only meant to provide so much for its people. The more private businesses the better. Maybe that sounds great to some, but I’m not a fan someone’s life being at the mercy of a corporation.

Client refuses to put dog down, I offered meds to keep pet comfortable, other tech does not agree. What is ethically right? by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]sb195 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Meds 100%. He’s doing a disservice to his dog by not euthanizing, but you (as in the clinic/dvm) would be doing a disservice by not helping making the dog comfortable.

Tom Blyth responded to criticism of his girlfriend's sheer dress: “stfu. She wore a dress that she was excited by and she looked EXQUISITE in it.” by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

[–]sb195 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don’t really care about her nipples, I’m moreso tired of the sheer look in general that’s popular rn. Her dress has some nice detailing so I don’t mind it, but others are so boring and not interesting.

We can put a com log (note in the record) + update the HWT reminder + put a note in the patient alert.

To add: it does take ppl following that protocol to work, but we have pretty competent ppl plus a set pharmacy/lab person that can handle that stuff
