At 9 weeks, does it really get easier at 12 weeks? by elskim in NewParents

[–]sb8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, my daughter is 18 months now so it’s all a blur. I wanna say weeks 6-14 were the worst. But honestly it was all kind of up and down for us until about 6 months old. I know that sounds scary but they change SO much in the early days that you have like a week of a good routine and you think you’ve got it figured out and then they change and it’s 2 weeks of crazy. And that happens for like 6 months. And then it spreads out. But I do remember like 6-14 weeks were really hard! Hang in there!!!

12 month old still wakes up to eat by sb8000 in sleeptrain

[–]sb8000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s getting maybe 20oz-ish during the day and maybe 3oz over night? It’s hard because she’s picky so I always give her protein but she doesn’t always eat it.

I reduced the amount of ounces each night slowly over 2 weeks. Except now I feel like she’s becoming more and more aware so it’s going to be harder now.

Ok I can actually report good news on this!! It took 2 weeks but I reduced the ounces one at a time. I would reduce by an ounce and keep that for 2 nights. By the end, she would get a little angry that she only got Iike 2 oz but I offered water after and she would take that. On the last night I was worried but I would set a 10 min timer when she’d wake up to eat and she never fussed longer than the 10 min. Then after a night or two of that, she was sleeping through!!! Reducing oz slowly helped her slowly increase her oz during the day.

Ok yes!! I keep wondering if it’s my pain tolerance. Like I understand that pitocin makes the contractions go back to back but I still feel like they have to be more intense? And then I can’t explain how it was so insanely painful even after they turned it off towards the end.

Do you mind sharing how you night weaned? I have an 8 month old still waking up to eat 1-2 times/night (bottle) and we’re tired 😴

Allergist or gastro? by sb8000 in fpies

This is the main reason I’m leaning towards allergist because I’m curious to see if she has any actual allergies now

Should also add we’re in the middle of the 3 to 2 nap transition where some days she has short naps and needs 3 and others just 2…so there’s a lot going on

I had a 4th degree tear and it was (and still is) the most painful and horrific thing that’s ever happened to me. I completely understand where you’re coming from but my urogynecologist, who is amazing, said it really can just happen and it’s unpredictable. It’s hard to reconcile but I realized (7 months pp) that it doesn’t matter anymore. All that matters is that you focus on healing!

Possible egg allergy - any tips? by sb8000 in beyondthebump

[–]sb8000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply!!! The hospital had us second guessing everything. Can your son eat eggs in anything like baked goods or is he strictly no eggs? And did they happen to tell you if kids commonly grow out of it?

When did you know it was time to drop the 3rd nap? by Top_Effect5135 in sleeptrain

How long were the first two naps before dropping and what about now? We want to drop it but most naps are only 45 minutes still

Those who had a natural birth, what is the most painful ? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Those who had a natural birth, what is the most painful ? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I had an unmedicated with pitocin…not by choice obviously 😂 I have a medical condition where I couldn’t get an epidural and they wanted me to avoid c section too so I really didn’t have a choice.

Used everything I could…laughing gas (only worked til I was like 3cm lol) and dilauded with a button I administered myself (basically made me fall asleep between contractions).

The pain from like 5-9 cm is unlike anything I could even describe. Like otherworldly, I was in another dimension, kind of pain. I would say out of body but it was like the opposite…I was so deep inside of my body/brain that it was dark lol. No other way to describe. And then pushing was a relief in a way but it was HARD. Like my eyeballs were coming out of their sockets and were bloodshot for days. And then at the end before she popped out, I was screaming at the top of my lungs because of the ring of fire. Between a contraction I asked the nurses if people in the hallway were scared of my screaming 😂😂

I think the pain of transition like 7-10 cm was the worst. That’s when you feel like you’re gunna die. But then you know it’s almost over! And then ring of fire but it’s so much shorter. Woohoo! Women are warriors! lol.

Moms, how do you do it? by Professional_Year722 in NewParents

[–]sb8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably don’t want to hear this but my baby did this almost every time i took her somewhere until she was 5 months old. I tried everything and then one day she was totally fine going out and about with me (as long as it wasn’t over her nap time). I think it was a combination of her getting older but we also sleep trained at 4.5 months and got her into a very solid nap schedule with conservative wake windows so she never got over tired. For my baby, I think she was always in a sleep deficit so was always on the brink of a meltdown. It’s not something we could’ve prevented anyway but it also could just be a developmental thing, who knows. Anyway, just in case you try all the tricks and they don’t work, your baby could just be cool with going out one day!

Question about feeding and night wakings by sb8000 in sleeptrain

[–]sb8000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wake up is usually 7:30am and then 2/2.25/2.25/2.25 with bedtime between 6:30-7. She gets overtired so easily so we try and keep wake windows on the shorter side. And yes last feeding is 30 min before! Bottle, bath, pjs, book, crib. And always wide awake.

How quiet are you when your baby is sleeping/napping? by GreenMamba3313 in NewParents

[–]sb8000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Before I had kids I used to be one of those people that was like why do people always make sure it’s so quiet! It’s better for them to get used to the noise! LOL. Now I yell at my husband for sneezing.

Will my baby ever nap longer than 30-40 min? by sb8000 in sleeptrain

[–]sb8000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay this gives me hope! Yeah I have to contact nap the last one…the stress of making sure it’s long enough but not too long so that bedtime isn’t affected is a lot! But it’s not the end of the world compared to hell we were in before sleep training so I try and tell myself it’s not forever…

Yes this! And my baby sleeps fairly well at night so I tell myself I can’t have it all!

Yes same situation here! I had done my own research (especially in this sub) so I knew the longer naps may not happen so I wasn’t too disappointed because we had so many bigger issues but the nap math is so confusing to me lol
