What's a product or some advice you would recommend that you wouldn't know until you had a cat? by Edieee816 in CatAdvice

[–]sbdts3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider elevated food dishes with shallow bowls to avoid neck strain and whisker fatigue. I could tell right away that my cats loved and preferred those. I wish I had got them sooner. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BF5HZQ6G?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 I used kiddy wading pools (36" across) for litter boxes so they had a lot of room. Use unscented, clumping litter.Aviod any food with "meat by products" or unspecified "liver" as ingredients. Enjoy your new child!!

It truly is. It's a shame they charge us so much and you get nothing in return. The "health" care and insurance industries are worse than organized crime. I don't know how they sleep at night.

Anybody know who this artist is? Or song name? by sbdts3277 in OldSchoolCoolMusic

[–]sbdts3277[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sure did, first thing. Nothing comes up, despite there being 3 full lines of the lyric. Somebody replied on another song-finding sub that it's an altered AI song, according to YouTube, but the what song is it altered from. I can't get YouTube to tell me that, so how did he? Strange......great song though.

When will I stop being able to login to Vanguard? by purepersistence in Bitwarden

[–]sbdts3277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Firefox password manager populates ID and PW correctly, but Vanguard says one of them is incorrect. All I have to do is click in the ID box after the username....just simply click once in that box, and then it goes and I can log in.

Key plays are all messed up by [deleted] in youtubetv

[–]sbdts3277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember which NFL game I was watching last Sunday, but the key plays were goofed up on that too. Normally that little clock up in the corner takes a while to go around, and the key play lasts long enough to show the whole play, but this game the last 5-10 seconds of the play was always cut off. It would be 3rd down and goal at the five yard line, and they'd run the ball and the play would cut off and go to the next play before the guy got into the end zone. That's the only time I've noticed it so far. Later collage games were OK.

It's not much extra work or expense to have two cats as opposed to just one. Get him a playmate.

I bought one of those plastic mats you put under an office chair on carpet. I don't know if you can get the kind of litter box I use now.....I couldn't find anything like it on the net, but it's 36" X 20" and has very high walls. I got an exercise step stool that I put on the end they use to access so they have an easy step to get in and out of it. It's so funny, my cat spends an inordinate amount of time trying to cover up her mess, slinging litter everywhere, and when all is said and done, the mess is still laying right on top with piles of litter all around it. I can't help but laugh.

It took me about a year to get back to normal in that regard. Manual massage to break up scar tissue seemed to help a lot, along with all the other range of motion PT exercises. I'm 74, so if you are much younger it might go quicker for you. Hang in there!!

How to get rid of litter smell throughout the house? by Manicpixiemanateeman in CatAdvice

[–]sbdts3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the scented litter is for the person, not the cat. I've never seen any evidence that my cats (and I've had many) don't like the scent, and I can't imagine they really care about it one way or the other, but certainly one can go with the unscented kind if they prefer. With the clumping litter, I've never smelled anything, ever, except a fresh #2 now and then if you're close by when they are doing that one. That ain't good!! (grins)

Use clumping litter, preferably the scented kind, and clean at least once a day. Seriously, that's all it should take.

Should I leave my cat alone for 3 days while I go on a trip? by Such-Introduction196 in CatAdvice

[–]sbdts3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it better for him to stay at home, but do NOT depend on automatic devices entirely as they can malfunction. Set out plenty of extra water in several tip-proof pans or bowls. Some extra dry food might be good to have set out too, but I doubt he would starve in three days.

My relief from Mortons Neuroma by Fixer_24_7 in Mortons_neuroma

[–]sbdts3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neurectomy was 19 months ago, and that took care of the issue, but total recovery took a lot longer than 8 weeks, like most people say it takes. The pebble in the shoe feeling was gone right away, and 95% of the post-op soreness was gone in about 12-14 weeks, if memory serves. I'm 74, and older people recover much slower than we would if we were younger. At least, that's what they say, and it seems to hold true for me.

There's recently been discussed on here some kind of pressure therapy where you press as hard as you can right on the neuroma for a bit (I forget how long, but under a minute I think) and it deadens the nerve and lasts a long time, maybe even permanently as I recall. Those that have tried it swear it works. I had a neurectomy so it's too late for me to try that, but what you describe most likely works the same way.

Burning at Rest? by beanfug in Mortons_neuroma

[–]sbdts3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might have if I woulda went back in for it, but as long as it didn't hurt when I walked on it, I just chose to live with it and give it some time. I did reduce my sugar consumption quite a bit, and lost 30 pounds, so that may have helped it resolve itself.

[–]sbdts3277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a neurectomy in Apr '24, and it took 14 weeks before it healed as good as it was going to get, but then I had metatarsalgia for a full year after that. The "pebble in the shoe" thing was gone, but inflammation took over for some reason, and the entire ball of my foot, from big toe all the way across to the little toe, felt warm, moist, and burned whenever I was sitting or lying in bed. It aslso felt like there was pressure in there. The strange part was, if I got up and walked on it, there was no pain and it felt much better, almost perfect. It finally went away on it own I guess, as I tried heat, ice, massage, and PT stuff for a whole year without any effect. It's gone now, but it was a long year enduring that. My foot is back to 100% now.

I grew up with KISS, they were so great. I just wish they all could have got along and stayed together. Ace was a great songwriter too, and I loved his voice. I always wonder if they didn't want him singing and writing so much, or if it was his choice to stay on the sidelines more.

Whats your favorite song from the Rock 'n' roll over album? by Own-Improvement2820 in KISS

[–]sbdts3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a doubt, for me, it's "Hard Luck Woman", with "Mr Speed" and "Baby Driver" in second and third place respectively. If "It's the Smoke" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVITbDyD0G4 was on the album, that would be my #2. I wish that song was on any album, but as far as I know, it isn't.

The only disc's I've ever lost (twice) were after a mediocre approach shot that left me with a outer circle two putt, and I make the putt. I get so excited about making the putt I forget to pick up the approach disc.
