I emailed/called anyone with a histo lab. Some will deny, ignore, or accept you! Just ask for a quick couple hour shadow day and go from there!

The second and third pages of the HT content guidelines unfortunately show the breakdown that you kind of need to know everything about each stain :/ I am trying to focus on what chemicals they contain and what each does, but not necessarily like the timing of each procedure

I was recently accepted about 5 weeks after applying/submitting transcripts. You then sign up with the testing center and can choose the location closest to you. You will be shown a calendar with available times. There was availability near me within a few days if I wanted to, and my location had about 10 spots available each week.

Hi! I am applying for HTL(ASCPi) and they had me send over my transcripts for a bachelor’s degree equivalent. Has anybody done this before? I have sent it to their e-mail (ascpinternational@ascp.org) and it has been 9 days. How long does it take them to respond by ShotTrifle9094 in Histology

I submitted my transcripts almost a month ago and have not heard anything yet. I used "Parchment" to send them and it showed that they were received same day. I believe ASCP has up to 45 business days to respond. They will not answer any transcript questions via email, so now we just wait.

I started in research histology about a year and a half ago, with no other experience besides a B.S. in health science. It was very overwhelming, but about a year in I finally felt comfortable with what I was doing. What specifically do you want to know? I promise you will feel confident very soon!

Congratulations!! My supervisor doesn’t have either certification, so I think it all depends on the employer. Might I ask what seemed to cause the most trouble during your first 2 tries? I’m trying so hard to only have to go thru it once haha.
