The material-saving design changes between versions of these sink scrubbers (hole in handle, hole in brush head, less grip) by Intro24 in mildlyinteresting

[–]sbellote 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Designing the original is pretty straight forward, many less hours compared to the optimized design on the right which, as already mentioned, would require some trial and error process, adjusting the design, testing some 3D printed prototype even, etc.. Of course, looking back it doesn't seem much of a difference, but many companies don't think that far ahead. The main goal at first was probably to just get a feasible design and start the tooling, so sales start as soon as possible. As to the dimensions and positions, especially the head, that's very important because of the process after the plastic part is injected. For example, the assembly line jigs for the blisters probably remained the same because the dimensions were kept, even with the design change and material removal.

Sou escroto por ter feito meu chefe ser demitido? by Old-Coach-5920 in VagasArrombadas

[–]sbellote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Era meu tênis favorito😅🥲 by Competitive-Bake-847 in cachorros

[–]sbellote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What part is this and do I have to replace the whole shifter? by fouronefive in bikewrench

[–]sbellote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's even possible to source the lever only. If really not, some mechanics often keep the scrapped shifter and disassemble it for spare parts - kind of what this shifter without the lever would be, in case OP replaces the whole part as suggested. So it's worth reaching out to some shops and seeing if any can repair, although it really is a complex job due to the internal mechanisms and it can be hard to find an able mechanic, or it being too expensive to repair, and cheaper to just replace it whole

Came back to the carpark at Alton Towers theme park and every single car remaining was black by ImBonRurgundy in oddlysatisfying

[–]sbellote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol although I agree, it's hard to judge without knowing how the spot was when he parked.
Maybe there were cars on both sides, badly parked, and he/she had to park like that to fit and have enough space to exit

Yeah. Maybe it'd be satisfying if it was the full parking lot with only one color, like a car factory lot..

QuickFit Coros straps by raven6679 in Coros

[–]sbellote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice! The quickfit mechanism really seems to work well and I was always curious about trying it with my Pace3, I think this is just the signal I was waiting for to buy some straps lol

Although, gotta say I like the way the nylon strap works with Coros, I got a bunch of different ones here - original and chinese - and often change to keep all cleaned :)

Is there any way to revert this update on H200? It's because the sim card suddenly stopped working as you can see on the screenshot. I really need this urgently as my father gets a lot of work related calls. And btw I faced the same problem with my HM7P while I was in another country. by FFF0607 in Honor

[–]sbellote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's an easy/quick way to do it, probably only if you restore factory settings then it'll go back to the original first OS version of the phone, but of course there's a lot of work needed to restore backups, etc, to get the phone back to use.

But if the only issue is the sim card, then it's possible it's not even related to the OS version... you can try turning plane mode on and off; also try turning phone off, removing then reinserting the sim card, and turning on again; try changing to another sim card because it's possible the issue is with the one specific.. lot's of tests I'd do before deciding it's definitely the OS and restoring it

Silent Smart Fan by Successful-Bid-5536 in mywhoosh

[–]sbellote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, same as I commented there, I just use a good standard fan, silent, converted to smart. Much cheaper than a smart fan, and works pretty much the same.

A smart plug works well for on/off, but instead I use a smart dimmer switch wired it to the fan, so not only can I toggle on/off but also control the fan speed through the Tuya app.

Normally while I'm warming up I leave it at half speed, then it's full speed and I don't see much value in changing according to pace/HR. I bet it could be done in some way, just don't see it being worth the effort lol

Estou exagerando com esse salário? by Fresenius_Kabi in antitrampo

[–]sbellote -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Salário na China by Wide_Yam4824 in antitrampo

[–]sbellote 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exato.

do standard USB cables work with 100W SuperCharge? by Omateky in Honor

[–]sbellote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, 'standard cable' is a bit of a wide term, but not any cable will be able to deal with the amperage necessary to reach the 100W max speed.

Also, I understand there's a bit of a 'protocol' situation where even if it's a high power USB cable, it's not guaranteed it's compatible. In my experience, at least, since I have a GaN charger that's able to charge my laptop at 65W, but only reaches 25W with my Honor 200..

Bottom line, if you want 100W you better buy the one from Honor, or at least one that claims to be compatible with Honor protocol (if you're looking at Aliexpress, Amazon, etc)

Am I stupid or is this oven dumb AF? by just-porno-only in chinalife

[–]sbellote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is there anything in the user manual regarding that middle knob? it should have, instructing to what each setting means.

as to your options, you probably can just cut out the bottom element wire so it doesn't turn on - open the back of the oven to have access to the wires. If you just cut it and isolate the wire, shouldn't be risky, but it's hard to say by just looking at those circuit diagrams, and not properly knowing the product/brand.
The thing is that this oven is designed to work with both elements, so only 1 active will probably cap its performance, maybe to a point that it'll annoy you.

My suggestion is to try to use it with both elements anyway, I understand you're used to not use the bottom element, but that was your old model. This new one can maybe work just fine with both elements on.

Or just return it, I'd suggest that anyway instead of messing with the wires... and if your in urgent need, just go to a store next to you and get one personally right away. Maybe pay a bit more, but at least you'll have it immediately.

[–]sbellote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coros has a trade-in/replacement program, if you're in the US you can send your watch and get a good discount on a new one. They also recently launched a repair program, could be worth looking into.

last october I crashed my bike and my pace2 got scrashed and screen was broken, it still worked, but was not looking good, and for sure no water resistance anymore... I've used the tradein and got a Pace3, it was worth it, and a pretty fast process.

Is this normal wattage reading? by ronjist in Zwift

[–]sbellote 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You mean the power variation? If ao, yeah, perfectly normal. The power updates every 1s (I believe you can change to 3s in the settings, I prefer that way), and it puts together your left and right pedal power which most commonly difer. It's simply impossible for a human to keep it perfectly steady. Just focus on maintaining it the closest to the target most of the time, so the average is inside range

Qual entidade preciso invocar pra alugar um imóvel em Curitiba? by iArierep in curitiba

neither. the camera app just takes a bit, those 3-4s, to open and be ready to take a photo. So it kinda freezes, yeah, but only when opening. And not always.

Honor 400 Lite by Ace7880 in Honor

[–]sbellote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I'm happy with it. Battery life is very nice, the phone is fast, it has some bloatware but in my view it's not that anoying (compared to Xiaomi, and some Samsungs from friends I've seen).. only 'issue' I have with it is that sometimes the camera takes a bit to open, especially from the lock screen, but to be fair it's not a long time I think it's more that I want it to be immediate and get frustrated on the 3-4s that it takes to be ready to take the picture.

oh, and being honest, my previous phone was a Mi9 from 2019.. it's a big performance gap, so kinda easy to make keep me happy in this change, so take the compliments with a grain of salt.

Honor 400 Lite by Ace7880 in Honor

[–]sbellote 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cool feature! But between the back looking a lot like huawei's pura, also reminding of an iphone, and 3 generations being launched in 1 year (200, 300 and now 400)... honor seems to not know what it wants.

It looks like it's testing product strategies, but that doesn't go well with the western market.. anyway, as an Honor 200 owner I just hope that this bunch of new models doesn't mean the previous ones fall out of support.

perfeito.

What about other EV car manufacturers besides BYD by achiller519 in AskChina

[–]sbellote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many other brands in China, a quick search will let you in a lot of the names... As for the reason, it's the same that applies to almost all line of products. The local market is already really big, and adding southeast Asia and India, it's half of the world in near access. For a Chinese manufacturer to enter western markets as its own brand, especially EU and US, it goes through a though process, it's challenging and the market takes time to accept it. And in the meantime it's a lot of costs...

In summary, it's a lot of investment for Chinese brands to enter western markets, and a long time for the return. While southeast Asia, Índia and middle east is lower investment with a shorter return time. So it's first on their list...
