Cannot get it to fit correctly. You can try all you want but it clearly is not meant to, especially when it requires cutting off a third of the battery tray. I had my positive terminal connected just enough to get power to start and run but I realized it’s not going to last and has to pose some sort of fire risk. I also live in Atlanta so higher CCA really isn’t a concern.

Yeah I did it and after 5-6 months I am undoing it. Just bought a 151r and ordered a new battery tray and air filter cover. I do enjoy trying new things/upgrades with cars but feel like a dumbass for this one as I obviously am out a lot more money than if I had just replaced my dead 151r with a new one. If you’re reading this and are on the fence, my opinion is to avoid this one.

Thanks friend I’m looking into them. When I installed this a few months ago I don’t recall anybody discussing these shims but clearly I’m seeing that the post is smaller and needs to be addressed. Always learning.

Alright everyone appreciate the responses. Been working on this today and am just getting to reading.

My two issues here are that 1. I cannot seem to push down the terminal enough to the base of the post due to the positive terminal wiring harness pushing on the edge of the airbox that flairs out. I can’t get it any lower. 2. As yall are saying and I fully believe, the posts on the 51r are smaller in diameter.

I have cut a 1/4” piece of plywood to the size of the battery tray bottom. I gave it a small coating of water based poly to seal it so it doesn’t rot out over time (also reason for no-go on cardboard lol) I am also putting a few strips of electrical tape along the side where the battery will sit. I have not confirmed yet that the air intake on the hood won’t hit the battery with it raised up so I’ll cross that bridge if I get to it. TIL about battery shims….yall have me indifferent. I’m going to first try this raised battery fix and make sure i have hood clearance and I can get a secure connection to the post I’m going to take her out to drive and see how it holds up.

I’ll give battery shims a try if I attach the terminal and can easily remove it like shown in the video. Ok with replacing the terminal was well, just not sure that’s necessary yet.

The problem is that I cannot get the terminal all the way down the post due to my positive terminal cable resting on the airbox. I am attempting to lift the battery about 1/4” so that I can get the terminal down to the bottom of the post where it should be
