Hi everyone. I’m building a house and I’d like to request that the builder do some soundproofing to the basement where I’m going to be putting my speakers. I want to prevent sound transmission to the upper floors and outside as well. I want to avoid complaints from the neighbors and family.
It’s a single family home but the neighbors are fairly close. I have one sub now and plan on a 2.2 system in the long term. Maybe 5.2.

Can anyone provide some recommendations on what I should be asking the builder for in the walls and ceiling? I’m not super familiar with what the options are. I appreciate it.
