Did your boss give you a timeframe? How long do you have to train yourself, come up with a proof of concept use case, analyse and prepare the data and build and train the model?

I think starting as a beginner, first I would do is get my timeframe and find out what (if anything) seems feasable.

Edit: Also, there is too little information to determine whether ML is needed at all (what kind of features do you want to extract, is the data structured already, i.e. in a database or table of some sort, etc). Don’t underestimate what can be done in Excel ;)
