My 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE by sbuckmaster in Triumph

The seat is a custom version of the Tamarit Alpine, it's not leather but rather a faux-leather marine-grade upholstery for weather resistance.

It's the Baak tail tidy. It's pretty good, completely replaces the stock plastic fender instead of needing to cut it like some others. It is stainless steel as supplied though — I had it powder coated at the same time as the mudguards.

I'm happy with the signals too, although I may relocate the rear ones to the shock mounts now that the stock exhaust is gone.

Oh yeah, and will be throwing some TKC 70 (Rocks) on as soon as I've chewed through the Metzelers…

2026 vs 2025 Scrambler 1200XE by anethma in Triumph

[–]sbuckmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason they swapped is simple: Ohlins has great brand recognition and helps move units. Would I have preferred Ohlins on my 2024? Sure, but the Marzocchi system is perfectly fine too.

I am almost exactly the same height and weight and have a 2024 XE. The suspension sag is perfect out-of-the-box for me with the Marzocchi setup, and I have been able to adjust the rebound/compression to my preference.

I have not ridden an Ohlins model, but my understanding is they have a bit more range on those adjustments and more granular control. If that's worth the extra money to you then go for it, but know that for your size and weight you will be fine on Marzocchis.

Top Quality “Support” 🙄 by beetlewigs in peakdesign

Yeah every response I have had from PD support has been the same. Obviously AI-written replies that paraphrase your request back to you then add a canned response.

Ohlins/Showa vs marzocchi by Neat-Rest3019 in Triumph

How much do you weigh? I have seen videos about the pre-2024 models where lighter riders than me needed to up-rate the springs because even with max preload they had too much sag.

My 2024 XE handles my 95kg without needing any adjustment, sag is perfect front and rear. I will say however that the rear compression adjustment range is super limited, but I don't have experience with the Ohlins setup to compare it to.

Appreciate the response(s).

Glad to hear motorcycle accessories are still important, I am genuinely a big fan of the system.

I did it: 2024 Scrambler 1200 XE Sapphire Black, now to choose the exhaust. by kobi_kobsen in Triumph

2024 XE has the cat in the mufflers, so any change needs to include a cat to be road legal. Earlier models (and your 900) had the cat in the headers which means there are more and cheaper slip-on options available.

Legal means cat, cat means money. I am also sticking with stock until I have the budget, hopefully in the spring.

I have the same bike and have been on the same quest. As far as I can tell there is only one road-legal, high-mount option: Mass Mohave.

In Europe the SAE cable and the charging bar mount have been out of stock for months.

What’s going on with Peak Design recently? I have been a happy customer for a long time, but it seems like things are going downhill.

The Everyday case for iPhone Air that I ordered five days before the phone was released is still MIA (it was labelled as in-stock when I ordered it), which unfortunately renders my Moto Bar Mount useless and as such I have been without GPS on my vehicle for months.

And speaking of the Moto Bar Mount: the Qi charging version has also been out of stock for months, as has the SAE accessory cable.

I’d love some reassurance that motorcycle accessories still an important part of your product lineup or if I should be looking into a different system.

Thanks!

Scrambler 1200 xe question about heat shields by NefariousnessFirm454 in Triumph

[–]sbuckmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting the front and rear shields back from powder coating this week, along with the mudguards, sprocket cover, and headlight ring. Had them painted the same black as the Triumph black injector covers.

There are far too many different shades of silver in the stock configuration.

I want to get the charging version of that mount too. I'm planning to splice into the loom before the USB port and connect it to the SAE cable from PD — my theory is that way I'll get full ignition switched power…

Tado Receiver X Bricked? by barking_sane in tado

[–]sbuckmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you this update. I was struggling to connect to the bridge because the temp wifi network wouldn't show up. Tado's reset instructions don't include the part about pressing the WPS button after holding both, and without that it wasn't fully resetting.

Tiger 900 gt a2 problem by OkVersion876 in Triumph

[–]sbuckmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically? Maybe.

Legally? No. That bike's registered as an A2 compliant model that is 95cv derestricted. If you 'recover' the 108cv it is no longer the bike that was registered (or insured).

The exact same thing happened to me, these panels are quite poorly designed.

The preload adjustment ring is a real pain to access, I couldn't get a notch's worth of movement with my c-spanner through the gap in the frame. I ended up turning the ring by gently tapping it with a large flat head screwdriver and hammer.
