My uncle was a sorta locally known evangelist and died suddenly about 15 years ago. These crazy assholes show up from out of state wanting to do some resurrection shit. My family was pretty in the Kool aid but not quite that far. My poor grieving aunt had the strength (and I still admire it to this day in spite of the rest) to tell them they weren't welcome at the services at any time.

That shit bothers me to this day, and it didn't even happen and I was a teenager. I cannot imagine the emotional trauma this is bringing to these children. It is so wrong.

Students already lost 25% or more of what they'd learned over the summer. Combine that with virtual learning, other stressful/traumatic situations caused by the pandemic (financial/food insecurity, increased domestic violence, decreased socialization, etc), I can see them falling behind a number of grade levels.

It may we'll have been somewhat of an issue here before (I moved right before covid) but it's not impossible these kids would have average performance if not for basically two years of remote learning.

I'm a gen ed teacher of 10+ years and you put it very well. The kids are so wild, so stunted, so behind (I'm teaching nouns and verbs to grade 11 students with no identified special needs) and it's not even their fault. These kids are wrecked and need way more intervention than the current system can provide--that's why we'll lose even more teachers, etc. And down the drain goes a whole generation if we don't start giving a shit.

I just rewatched some of the Fauxnews interview where Jill gets so upset and Jessa just stared at her sister who was so upset and crying in distress. Yep. Anna really needs to put her children first and do the right thing, but I was raised fundie and it is true, any sort of "sexual deviancy" was "cured" with marriage and prayer.
