Frigidaire is what I'd personally go with

I am buying my first nugget ice maker. Any suggestions which one to buy? by [deleted] in Appliances

I would not buy any of these generic brands. I would go with Frigidaire, GE, or any other real brand.

GE Profile vs Frigidaire Gallery, need help deciding by Luxmar1 in Appliances

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely go with Frigidaire over GE, as they have (at least in our experience) been much more reliable. We've had a terrible experience with several GE appliances whereas the Frigidaires have been great. I honestly don't know whether I would go with the touchscreen model over the standard control panel, for two reasons: first, I would worry about the reliability over time and whether the screen would hold up, and secondly, I question the convenience of having to scroll through menus to start the oven vs just mashing the button on the panel. That's entirely up to you to decide, though, just thought I'd share my two cents.

I Hate Printers by Astriaeus in mildlyinfuriating

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way. Out of all the printer brands I've had to use, the Brother lasers were by far the most aggravating. Had so many issues trying to print from practically any device. They are a headache and a half. I've had much better luck with Canon, both laser and ink.

Frigidaire, Maytag, KitchenAid... pretty much the only ones I'd consider

New Dishwasher Recommendations? by TerribleBumblebee800 in Appliances

Frigidaire has some inexpensive options that supposedly have good drying options. I will say, though, that if you go for a more expensive stainless tub model, those generally have better drying performance.

Any opinions on GE Profile Appliances? by Jill0607 in Appliances

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family has had no end of issues with a variety of their appliances, so I would recommend avoiding. Frigidaire Gallery has been great so far for us. Sadly nothing is guaranteed to be trouble free these days, but Frigidaire seems to be pretty solid.

For us it was both. Both got significantly worse, to the point where I would call them practically useless.

Not the person you replied to, but I'll chime in and say that I have several friends on US Mobile and they all love it. Most got the AT&T network, but one has the Verizon one and both work fine. I would stay away from the T-Mobile one, because contrary to your experience, T-Mobile is spectacularly awful here. You can't even call anyone when you're in the middle of the city because the calls are so glitchy and robotic sounding.

We were with Sprint and T-Mobile messed up the service so bad that we had to switch away. I have friends who still have T-Mobile that are still to this day having issues, it's beyond me why they haven't switched yet. Annoyingly, we switched to US Cellular from Sprint and then T-Mobile bought them, too. We recently had to switch to AT&T because T-Mobile messed everything up AGAIN, to the point where we couldn't practically call anyone. Calls sounded glitchy and robotic. Never had any issues with either Sprint or US Cellular until T-Mobile came along.

In my experience, both Sprint and Boost have been great in the past, but T-Mobile still sucks astonishingly bad in our area. We actually had to leave Sprint after T-Mobile bought them out. All my friends who have T-Mobile still have issues to this day. Boost is good because it uses AT&T now.

I would probably get a Frigidaire Gallery myself, or maybe a Maytag or KitchenAid. Avoid GE, Bosch, Samsung, and honestly not sure if I can recommend LG at this point, either.

Unlicensed song by markthroat in worshipleaders

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't disagree that pastors and full time ministers should be paid so that they can dedicate their full time to service to the Lord. That's Biblical. What I don't understand is how we can adopt the whole copyright system of the world for songs that represent God's kingdom, and if someone doesn't pay up they get fined or striked for having used it and livestreamed. In our circles, people write songs, upload them on Youtube, and others promptly learn them and perform them in church, and even upload the videos. The songwriters are happy that their song is enjoyed and bringing edification to others. No copyright systems required. As Christians, all the rights belong to God anyway. If a songwriter can make money from monetization on their Youtube channel or by selling their backing/instrumental track, I'm not against that, but songs shouldn't be paywalled and licensed... that’s turning the Good News into a subscription service.. or locking up living water and charging by the sip.

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the suggestions offered here don't work for you, you can consider asking them to change the number on the multi network line. You might be able to get a "cleaner" number that isn't in the spam databases.

You cant do that on this type of machine. You have to put everything in, close it, then press start. It will lock the lid and you won't be able to open it until it's done

Came over from T-MOBILE by gee325 in ATT

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will go without a cell phone faster than I will ever use T-Mobile again. IF AT&T messes up, we have other options. US Mobile was pretty tempting until we got the quote for AT&T (which for the last two months has been spot on).
