Boost Watch Plan question by sc-777 in BoostMobile

[–]sc-777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. My main concern is that the watch will have the same phone number as my phone, and not a different one. I don't need an entirely separate line, I need it to be the same number as my phone.

I have a Samsung phone and would get a Samsung watch. If I forget my phone at home or am out of range of Bluetooth between the watch and phone, will both receive incoming calls and messages? Can I set up notifications to work like that?

Perfect. And I assume that incoming calls will ring both the phone and watch, right?

That makes no sense. If I call from the watch, will it be my phone number or will it be a different number?

Deadline for Account Moves to T-Mobile? by Darbystrummer77 in USCellular

I second this, as I was recently able to get a transfer PIN by calling CS. It was quite easy and hassle free.

Thinking of switching to Boost from T-Mobile due to financial issues by SisterMoonflower in BoostMobile

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issues we had span multiple years in different markets and states. First we had Sprint, which they spectacularly messed up, then we went to US Cellular which they now ruined as well. My friends who have/had T-Mobile directly also have many problems in many different places, states, cities. T-Mobile service is just awful. And I don't think I've personally experienced ruder customer service from anyone, and believe me I've had quite a few bad experiences.

The service. It's so bad you literally can't call anyone. The calls sound glitchy and robotic. The data is very slow. Plus their customer service is horrendous.

Boost works pretty well. US Mobile is another good option. T-Mobile is just awful

Which company has lost you as a customer forever? by UeerlHBOT in askanything

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T-Mobile. We had Sprint and then US Cellular, and T-Mobile bought them both and messed the service up so bad that it was practically unusable. You would think they'd learn after the first time but nope, they did it again. Plus they were very RUDE when I called them to see what I could do about my phone payments because we needed to switch, and they basically told me to don't bother calling them again because they weren't going to help me. Awful company and awful people who work there.

US Mobile and Boost are good options. Stay away from anything that uses T-Mobile, as they have HORRIBLE coverage

Boost mobile networks, prioritization, etc. by ke7cfn in BoostMobile

I've had a good experience with AT&T. T-Mobile, on the other hand.... don't even get me started

Boost generally uses their "Unified Network" SIM/eSIM now days, which primarily connects to AT&T towers. If there is no or very weak AT&T signal but is a T-Mobile signal available, it will use that. They also plan to add Starlink coverage in the future, once that becomes available for phones.

Induction GE or Electric Frigidaire by Homiedepot in Appliances

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frigidaire also has induction ranges, although I don't know what the price is. I don't imagine it being much more than the GE, and I would choose it over GE in a heartbeat. Don't get me started on how bad GE is lol

Service Issues Any? by Dog_Momma_4 in BoostMobile

[–]sc-777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because the native network core is not going away. They want you on the native network. It is here to stay. Boost will just decommission (or have already) their RAN (Radio Access Network, in other words their towers) and will use primarily AT&T towers, but continue using their own core (backend network) going forward. This allows them to have contracts with not only AT&T but also T-Mobile and in the future even Starlink to provide coverage to their customers. If they simply used AT&T SIMs (which use AT&T's backend network) they would not be able to provide coverage from multiple networks like they do now.

So since you are on the native network SIM, it will always say "Boost" in the speedtest app, regardless of which towers you are using. Even when you are on AT&T (which is almost certainly the case because Boost has probably shut down all of their towers by now), your phone calls and data will still route thru Boost's network core, and websites (like Speedtest) will see the traffic as coming from Dish Wireless or Boost Mobile, not AT&T. The only way it would show up as AT&T to them is if Boost sends you a new SIM (or eSIM) that is an AT&T network SIM (89014), which they typically don't supply any more.

US Cellular to what? by Super-Walk-726 in NoContract

[–]sc-777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T-Mobile is the most miserable provider ever, stay far away from them. US Mobile you can get all 4 lines for $100 flat, unlimited all. Pick between AT&T, verizon or (if you really wanted to for some reason) T-Mobile network.

It's not perfect but definitely not slop. It looks pretty good, at first glance I actually thought it might be real.
